MotoJoe from NM and I were discussing a ride somewhere between CO and NM to get our groups together and say hello.
We discussed the Four Corners area and decided to invite the AZ and UT riders.
Joe has set up a discussion board for ideas and comments. If you have any interest in joining the ride and saying hello,

OK guys and gals, here is what I have for hotel information!
We use the La Quinta Hotel - Denver Tech Center as our Event Hotel for our Colorado Ride in July. We have used them for the last 4 years and will be using them again this year. It is a great Hotel and they are super hosts for our Ride. While meeting with the DTC GM I asked about Farmington and what to expect from them. He knows the Farmington GM and gave her a call to introduce me and expect the call. Here is what I came up with...
The Farmington La Quinta is located 675 Scott Ave. As you can see from the map they are just off Hwy. 550 so the location will work.

Following this link you can check out the Hotel and their amenities. Decent Hotel, court yard, complimentary breakfast, pool, close nature walk, pet's welcome.

They have double beds, kings and queens. They would prefer we take as many rooms as possible with the king or queen single beds as they have a soft ball tournament that uses the double beds. I'm sure we can get a few double beds if we have someone sharing a room but they ask we minimize that option if possible.
Their rack rate ranges from $99 to $115 depending on room and they are willing to give us a group rate of $64 no matter which room we book. In other words, a king won't cost us anymore than a queen, each room we book will be the same price.
Considering this is a holiday weekend the rooms are guaranteed to be filled so it's important we reserve a block of rooms early to ensure we all stay together. They will allow us to block out as many rooms as we think we will need and we can release the unused rooms two weeks prior to our visit with no charge. If we book more than our block, they will increase our rooms as needed if available. If you book a room and the unthinkable occurs and you cancel your reservation, they will allow you to do so up to 6pm of the check in date at no charge to you.
Location is good for this ride, nice Hotel with a clean room at $64 a night group rate. I like it and don't think we will do much better especially on a holiday weekend but I need to here from you.
So, what does everybody think?
Talk it over amongst yourselves, if you all like it and agree to proceed, I will need to contact them this Friday 1/26. If we proceed, here is the info I need from each of the coordinators.
1 How many rooms needed for each state (approximate best guess will work)
2 Smoking preference
3 Room type only if you need a two beds
I know it's early guys and gals but this is a holiday weekend and the sooner we lock this up the sooner we can work on routes and timelines.
If everyone is in agreement, I will call them Friday afternoon and block out our rooms. I will then post the contact information. What you will need to do is call the Hotel directly ASAP, (not central reservations) and give them a credit card to hold your room. Tell them the date of your stay (May 25th) and use the group name "Spring Fling" to ensure you receive our group rates. Again, you can cancel at anytime so it is important to book early and ensure we have the rooms. I will go over the process once again with the contact info if we proceed.
Post your comments here or send me an email... vtx2up@aol.com
Next steps will be to get a banquet room reserved in Farmington for our Meet and Greet and a Hotel set up in the Four Corners area for Saturday evening. Any info you may have to share will be considered.

OUTSTANDING guys and gals, we are getting the details in place for this GREAT Ride. The Ride Hotel for Friday night 5/25 in Farmington is now locked in!
We have 30 rooms in our block. The sooner we book our rooms, we will know how many more we need and of course we will able to add more as available. Please remember, this is a holiday weekend and if we wait too long, the rooms will be booked by other guests and we will be left with some of our group sleeping in the courtyard.

Make the reservation of your choice and give them a credit card to hold your room. Please remember, your card WILL NOT be charged until day of check in. And if you need to cancel your reservation, no worries. There is NO CHARGE to cancel as long as you do so prior to 6 pm of check in date.
You can call the hotel starting Monday 1/29, tell them you are with the "Spring Fling" group in order to receive our group rate. Your room, no matter what you choose (excluding suites) will be $64.00.
If the front desk tells you there are no rooms available or a room of your preference is not in our block, contact me ASAP and I will take it up with the GM to resolve the problem. [email:2dcbrdsv]vtx2up@aol.com[/email:2dcbrdsv]

New, Updated Hotel Information
We have decided to make a minor change in the plans for the Spring Fling Ride.
Instead of moving the group to a new location (Four Corners area) for the second nights stay we have decided to base the group in Farmington for the entire ride. In other words, we will be staying at the La Quinta in Farmington MN all nights.
If you have made your reservation at the Farmington La Q for one night, Friday 5/25 please give them a call and extend your stay for the rest of the weekend. If you haven't made your reservations yet, no worries just let them know how many nights you plan to stay.
The Group Rate of $64 will apply for all nights we stay.
If you have any problems or questions, contact Joe or myself.

Well guys and gals, we have been working on a little surprise for you and the First 4 Corners Spring Fling.
Our graphic artist, who also puts our ideas to logo for the Colorado VTX Ride in July, has taken our ideas and put them down for a 4 corners Logo.
The logo will go on tee shirts back and the ribbon will go on the sleeve of the long sleeve tees. If there is an interest, we may be able to have some patches and pins made as well.
The concept was to be distinct, a bit new age or modern, using a 4 and incorporating something relating to the 4 Corners area. To do that our artist used the + or cross in the logo as that is what the Four Corners Monument uses for all four states coming together in their logo / medallion.
Personally I think our artist hit a home run, it's great! The only area I don't like is the font on the Spring Fling. I like it being bold and thick but I don't like the melting around the bottom, it isn't working real well.
Probably offered in black, maybe a gray or white and a color to be determined that will enhance the colors in the logo. Maybe a hunter green?
Considering / depending on our low quantity of tee sales, we should be able to sell them to you in this range.
Short sleeve $12 to $17 range
Long sleeve $17 to $20 range
Ladies tank $13 to $17 range
Pins and Patches $5 give or take
These are top quality tees and not cheap junk. If you have one of our CO July Ride shirts you know what I'm saying.
Considering this will be the same vendor we use for our July Event Wear, we may be able to group these sales with them to get a fair price. The money made, if any, from these sales will go toward supporting a few extra BBQ meals and the purchase of door prizes for the Meet and Greet Saturday evening.
There maybe a minimum quantity allowed around 35 or so but by my count we have over 30 people signed up and I expect a few more so I think we can do it. I know I'll be buying at least two and I don't even want to think about how many Carol will buy.
I'm done talking people, now it's up to you... tell us what you think?

This is the final logo design for the 2007 4 Corners Spring Fling Ride!
We will offer three colors only for the tee shirts. Due to the color scheme of the logo and timing available for production and shipping we must limit the colors. Color one a dark or hunter green, the second color is tan or Khaki and the third color is white.
They will be available in any color short sleeves up to 5X and any color long sleeve up to 2X. Unfortunately in long sleeve we can only offer white for the 3X, 4X and 5X sizes.
The good news, ordering can start immediately. The bad news, no more orders can be accepted after April 25th. Considering we are only producing what is ordered and paid for, you will need to order soon. These are going to be a very rare and distinct shirt, if you want one, now is the time to place your order, it doesn't matter if you make the ride or not.
Pictured below is the selected logo and sleeve flair (long sleeve only) placed on each of the colors to give you an idea of how sharp they will look. They will of course be on a heavy good quality tee and the prices are great! $12 for the short sleeve and $17 for the long. How can you go wrong, maybe you should order one in each color?
Patches and pins are still being worked on but information will be available on them very soon.
To download the order form, > "click here." < (http://www.coloradovtxrangeriders.com/includes/Spring%20Fling/2007%20Spirng%20Fling%20Order%20Form.pdf) Once you fill out your order, mail your check and order form to the address in the lower left corner. If you're running late and close to the deadline, no worries, just fax the order form to 303.463.8677 and drop a check in the mail the next day.
