Has anyone bought from Procycle? My brother is interested in a new bike and they seem to have a few to choose from, especially "new" '04's that never sold. Have they been pretty good to work with, etc? Thanks.

Watch them fuggers, they have been in court with the states district attorney............................bate and switch with pricing..........! Just a heads up!
Walk in there with cash in hand and pay no more then what you want to. Especially on the 04s left overs. With a clean cash deal, you have more bargining power and will save even more duckies!

Get an OUT THE DOOR price and make them put it in writing before you make a deal. Otherwise, they will tack on all other kinds of fees and taxes and such. But that goes for ANY STEALER.

Bought mine from Columbia procycle. It was a left over 03 . Actually they were selling them on E-BAY. Got down ther after driving 5 1/2 hours and getting there Sat morning. Talk to John and he told me they were coming in Tuesday and they were all black models. I was getting mad after driving all that way there. So he had a red model which is a little more in price for the same amount as the black one. He took care of me allright but the people outside were really mad about some hidden cost Procycle through at them. They were so mad they told them to stick it :? They were from that area. I did save my self 1800.00$ compared to Illinois cycle shops

I never bought a bike from them, but a couple years ago, they were always way under other dealers costs. They used to buy their bikes in bulk which means they go to the Honda warehouse and buy bikes by the lot. They may buy 15 bikes still in the crate and some may be damaged, some are not. They get their bikes cheaper that way and used to pass the savings on. A buddy of mine bought a new '02 1800 Retro for $8,000.00. Other dealers were asking in the 11's.
So it is like the others advised. Go in, get an out the door price and don't pay a penny more.

Bought mine from the Springfield Procycle. New '04 1800R spec3. I paid the price on the tag. When they gave me their financing "deal", I politely refused and told them what I would take. 5 minutes later, that's what I got. When they tried to tack on all the extra "dealer prep, setup" charges I politley told them I would pay what the tag said and nothing more. They said okay and the deal was done.
They are just like any other dealer. They are going to try to make a buck off of you if they think they can. If you make it clear that that's not going to happen, they'll work with you. They did with me, anyway.
I haven't been back since. I do most of my own maintenance and what I can't do I take to a Honda Gold Certified Tech that works for Gene's Gallery in Springfield. It's more of a Goldwing specialty shop, but they're good people and you'll have any warranty work done by a certified tech who isn't affiliated with any dealer as such. Best of both worlds.
Good luck and PM me if you need more details.
Ride safe.

Bought my '03 1800C from Procycle in Columbia in March of '05 after finding their store on e-Bay. I called the store and negotiated a great deal on the X -- $8000 even. After I drove to Columbia to pick up my new bike, they tried to spring the setup and paperwork fees on me when we closed the deal. I protested and they waived the paperwork fee. However I did agree to pay the setup fee that was $200 or so.
All in all I got a great deal on the bike--much better than I could find locally. The hidden fees and negotiations at closing were no different than you have at a car dealer, and just like at a car dealer if you stand your ground you have a good chance of getting the fees waived. They do not want a customer walking out the door over and losing a sure sale over an arbitrary fee.
Would I buy from Procycle again? You bet, but I would be sure to get the "out the door" price up front. 8)

We went yesterday to talk to them about their bikes. They had their prices on the stickers and on the back had the price with all of the extras. They still wanted 11,500 for the '04's. I explained that the bike was going to be a used '04 when I drove it off and that the price I would expect to pay for it used was 9k at the most. Kid tried to say that may be true but I wouldn't have to deal with someone's else's headache by buying new. I told him I would deal with the "headache" if it meant I paid 2500-3500 less for the same thing.
But they offered to cut us a "great deal" - wave the $200 prep and paperwork fee. We told them to fly a kite. I explained that these were '04's they couldn't move (I know for a fact they have been there at least 3 months) and that at the end of the day, they would owe personal property taxes on whatever they hadn't sold. The sales kid's response? We don't care. We told them that we didn't care either and we left. Kid kept trying to get us to fill out a credit app, even after we told him we wouldn't pay the overinflated prices.
The biggest thing that ticked us off was that we went in hoping to pay around 9k for the bike. We moved up to 10k because my brother really liked the bike. The most the dealer did was take off the doc fee, not even drop the price. We definitely needed to walk away but still ticks me off. Maybe with another sales person we might have gotten farther, but I don't know that we will be back to find out. The whole attitude was that we can afford to hold onto these so we will, not let's see what we can work out. With that take it or leave it attitude, we just left it.

There is a dealer down south. KY or TN (I think)
I have heard from several fellow VTX riders that this is the place to buy a VTX. I'm sorry I don't know the name, I'll try to find it.
My understanding is that there are no games with these guys, you know in advance the price, show up, and pick up the bike..
If anyone else knows the name of this dealer please post it..

Oldnavylaw, sounds like the kid you talked to at Procycle needs to take a look at their website. They list the '04 1800R at $9,420, and the the '05 at $10,120 + fees. That's a far cry from the $11,500 they had posted in the store. They ought to stand behind their advertised price.

We saw that listing, too. We told him that they had it. He wanted a copy of the ad to verify what we were saying. We told him that the ad is on their own website and if he didn't know what it was all about then perhaps he should go look into it and get back to us. That is when he told us to fill out a credit app and he would look into it. We decided to leave instead.

Is it Abernathy Cycles in Union City, TN? They have on their website "out the door" pricing. They also have messages telling you to beware of added fees from other dealers. "Always demand out the door pricing"

I am a very large fan of Abernathy Cycles in Union City, TN. I called on a Friday morning/afternoon to see if they had the color I wanted in stock. The guy on the phone said yes so I told him I would be there in the morning to pick it up. He didn't ask for a credit card number or anything to hold the bike, just my name. We drove down Friday night, stayed in a hotel just down the street and got there first thing in the morning. I told a salesman my name and he went and got the bike. It had a sold sign on it with my name. I told the guy how greatful I was that they just held the bike for me with nothing other than a phone call and he replied that they probably would have held it for a week or so and then taken the sold sign off. I paid the exact same amount that they advertise on the website (taxes & license due in MO). They helped us load up and we were out of there in about half an hour.
If you pay with a credit card, they will add a couple extra %'s to the price - this is not a hidden fee and they are straight up with it. It just covers the card fee they have to pay since they are already selling the bikes at such low costs.
These people were very kind and great to work with. If I purchase another bike that they sell, I will make the drive again. If anyone has any questions or concerns about this dealer, please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help.
I've also been to the Springfield ProCycle. The salesmen at Abernathy's were much nicer people!

EXACTLY.. I have purchased two bikes from Abernathy's, about a year apart. Absolutely no complaints. They are 100% "upfront" and no BS.

I bought both of my bikes from them. I cant stand them but I got good deals on both of my bikes. I will not go tothem for anything else again not even a new bike. I would rather spend a little extra somewhere else than deal with those people.

Bought mine at Abernathy's and I'm totally happy with the deal. I'm paying a little interest on sales tax and and first years insurance but I threw my leg over it, road home, and didn't have to worry about coughing up a wad of cash. To me it says they're not only protecting their interest but also you'res. sameym

I am going off of personal experiance in the dealings I have had with them & the dealings people I have known have had with them.
80 days in the shop only to find the batt cable was loose.
Ask to make sure all ground fixes were done 4 times & told & charged for, only to have to do it my self when bike wouldnt start at a show.
45 days to & told my ecm was bad & caused by Power Commander.....funny when I asked for the "BAD" ECM & told them I was sending it to Power Commander to have it checked along with the Power Commander....it suddenly went from $768.00 to "Your such a good customer, were just going to cover it".
ThATS THE CRAP i HAVE EXPERIANCED WITH THEM PERSONALY!! i NOW TAKE ALL MY STUFF TO hi pERFORMANCE atv ON kEARNEY STREET in Spfld.
