The East Coast seems to be in spring. The NW is on the edge of a rain forest of perhaps ice age. We do not seem to get much notice of our crap weather. Sort of like our sports team? Any way just wondering. Weather forcast is rain as far as we can see and some possible snow next week.

It snowed here last night and again this morning. Once I drove off the hill and to lower elevation it was fine though, just cold. I'm getting ready to gear up and fire up the scoot. I have to have a ride today.

Walked out of the house this morning at 5:45 to hop on the bike only to find it snowing. LOL Took the bike anyway. About 2 miles from the house, it turned to rain, then nothing. Really sucks when it sticks to the windshield

Yeah, me too. I've turned into a fair weather rider in my old age.
I used to ride rain or shine. But anymore, I just hate being cold.
I think it's a carryover from living in Florida. I got to used to being warm all the time.

Bike hasn't moved in months. It has boxes, and junk stacked all around it in the garage.. It looks sad...

Being I live on a dirt road and hate cleaning muddy chrome if I don't have to, I'm not much into the rain and cold while riding. If it's dry but chilly then I'm game but once it hits the 30's, I'm a wimp! Must be from growing up back in the southeast and then being stationed on tropical islands and warm weather locations for my military career. Now that I'm Joe civilian and been here for the past 12 years I've climatized but still don't like the cold. :(

Did someone say go back to the garage and put more parts on the X?? More boxes today, yeah!

I'll second the GO HAWKS! I think it will depend on who brings their game on the field. Indy vs KC, geez theres a tough one :D

Yeah, I hear ya - my bike is overrun with boxes from Christmas. I plan on spending some time out there tomorrow afternoon, trying to clean things up.

Have a good weekend everybody! :D

I have spent the last two winters riding in the rain and bad weather. I heard noise from the rear and took it in. The rear flandge bearing is rusted
badly could have been a bad scene. Its getting fixed under my Honda extended warranty. Then I can put my ct on and drive in the rain with more meat on the ground. Jim

I would ride more in this icky weather if I could be warmer. Still trying to decide on heated grips or golves or both. Who knows.

Today doesn't look to bad outside but feeling icky so no riding for me. Fighting that flu bug that has been going around and most of my family has had. Such a bummer, its not raining and would be a good day to go riding.

The gerbings work great. But as wet as it is the bigger problem is being on the edge of ice. Main roads in the sun (lol) are ok but the secondary roads in the hills and trees can be not so nice.

I need to get a ride in. I'm going to try it on Monday. It is not suppose to rain and might get into the upper 40's. :D

And then the snow is suppose to come.

I don't care for riding in the rain myself.

We have been lucky as far as the coolness but there are some vicious winds up right now. I did see a group of bikes at a bar yest. with some vtx's,harleys, and a yamaha. :beer3:  :beer3: Didn't get a chance to check on people-not a lot of communicating on this end here. Where is everyone. :tools1: Ahhh we must be doing our winter repairs. Have fun all.

You folks are breaking our hearts. Can't ride in the cold? In the rain? Too bad.

Down here in eastern Oregon, we will not ride if we can't see the road! You know, as in ice and or snow? A half inch, maybe even several inches thick?

We have a good 54 mile north to get to Pendleton and beyond, where the temps may be low, but there is no snow-- one can actually see the road!

There are, though, a couple of football players at our university who only have bikes, and they ride to school and wherever on the bikes [tho they do ride Hondas...]. I have asked them, "What the heck?" They reply, "Just ride slow." What's the point?

We think they are idiots. They think we are old.

Sigh.

Well for me, my bike is about enjoyment. I don't enjoy riding all tensed up because of wet conditions on the road & wondering if I can make the corner or stop when I need to. I don't enjoy being cold & wet & I don't want to spend a fortune on electrics (just yet anyway). :D

I'm a fairly new rider on the road so I think I will take it easy my first winter so I can live to see my next.

I don't mind riding in the rain. Actually sometimes I enjoy riding in the rain. I just don't like being in the pouring rain in the stop and go traffic and having a hard time seeing. I probably could have gone with a shorter windsheild, but didnt really know any better when I got it. I don't like being cold too much though. But thankfully about 5 or more years ago my body dedided to make some changes and I can handle some colder weather now better than I used to. I didn't ride too much during the winter last year but I didn't have rain gear. This year I have the rain gear but now need to work on having some gear to keep me warmer.

Maybe I'll dig the bike out & ride before the snow returns.

Depends...

Not a real fan of rain riding either. Just not real enjoyable for me. Don't mind the rain when on a long ride. Rain happens. Just not my 1st choice for weather :!:
Got a short ride in today- went up to Jon's to drop off for its 8K and doing some other stuff too like desmog, the ground fix and others.

Now that I have power back again I can check in on the board. All day with no juice! At least I got the oil changed and the sideburner exhaust cleaned up. Got the Bub's on now and selling off the burner. Now for the brown truck to arrive tomorrow with more toys!

More wind and rain/snow coming up. Can't wait to sit in the dark again! I have a gen but it's out getting repaired, so does me no good.

Looks like there will be some cold but clear riding weather later this week. Time to take the scoot down to get the new meats installed. Should look better with the 200 on the rear.

Motorycycles are dangerous enough. Two wheels on icy roads isnt a smart thing to do.I wouldnt take the risk people! Makes no sense, there will be plenty of riding days.

Yep no rain and low's in the 20's and highs in the 30's...suppose if the road is dry before it freezes it might be okay :?

No way, it's just not the risk. Riding is fine, but I won't do it if conditions are unsafe. I've ridden in hail, rain, lightning, and thunder last summer in Sturgis and it was enough to last me a lifetime.

Crappy weather? No thanks.

A bit of a wind whipping last night but all is calm today. None of the predicted snow or ice on the roads. Stars are looking awsome this am :D. Still no riding until clutch and tires are done but have to get to the cruiser first-funny how boxes seem to multiply when you dont move them, and why do they congregate around the honda :? Have fun all.
