Pair valve question...

Here's the story..... I removed the pair valve and did the clayton mod. No problem,except.... the block off plates are on inter-galactic back-order (uuhg...so-of-a :evil: ).So how bad do you think its killin' me to hear the exhaust?? Here' the question.... can I temporarily cap the ports on the reed covers with a vac. cap type thing...or is there any pres. that would just blow them off?? I'm not going on any long rides, just want to hear the exhaust. any info would be appreciated....thanks guys.

I am pretty sure you can cap the tubes on the reed valve covers, do a search on the pair mod, I think most people agree it is a temporary thing to cap the reed valve tubes as opposed to using the plates. Hope this helps. You could also PM Spike, I am sure he knows.

Yes you can cap the valve body off, or you can try these guys plates

LOL! No problem guys. I don't advertise them for sale. We just like having some at the shop. When we do valve adjustments, we offer to do the desmog with plates.

Wish I knew that earlier!!! I threw on the vac caps on Sat. after work!! I left my laptop @ work So I didn't check for anymore responses until this morning.. so needless to say, the bikes all back together & I got my test drive in.... so I might as well just wait now.....but thanks for the offer Bluto. I wasn't quite as excited as some others about the sound of the clayton mod... but it'll probably get me through a season or so. That will allow me to spend the money I saved for pipes on some other things, nicer bags,backrest.... (does the list ever end??!!) Anyway... thanks for all the help everyone.

Yes it does end when you run out room for add ons
then you can sell her and buy a new bike and start over.
