getting a puppy [Archive]

Our oldest daughter came over today and brought her new puppy to visit as well. My husband has been wanting a another dog around the house. Well he fell in love with this dog so tomorrow my daughter will go pick up the sister for us. Oh joy.
Guess we need to find something for the dog so she can go on family rides with us. Get us a nice biker puppy.
BOy am I really ready for this??

We just lost one of our beagles (the one in my avatar) due to some wierd paralyzing condition to his back and back feet. It happened all of a sudden, and my wife had even taken him for a walk earlier that day. Due to his condition the vet put him down. Now his best friend, our other beagle, is trying to adjust. We'll be looking for another beagle soon. Need to keep two so they have a friend and can play. Time to rescue another pound pup! They always make the best dogs.

Been a rough week here at our house since. As you can tell by the avatar, he was very overweight (was that way when we got him from the pound) and most likely would have had some type of hip problems later in life.

Buster - RIP!

shuterbg, congrats on your new pup. Mine 2-year-old pound pup is here under the desk while I type this. All 95 pounds of her. Wish I could take her for a ride, but she's too big to fit on the bike without some major engineering.

Richard, sorry to hear about your loss. Best wishes for the new pups in your future.

I am so sory to hear about you and your wifes loss. I was lucky enough to met Buster and he was a great little dog. I hope you can find another one as cool as Buster to keep Willy company. When I come over to buy that tire I will bring our beagle over for a play date. We have lost several of our "kids" over the years and it is never easy. Take care.

Thanks and I'm sure Willy would like the company. I was thinking we should get some of us together this weekend for a ride. The weather is supposed to be nice. Say maybe a lunch time meet and ride?? Anyone game?
