I have an '02 1800 retro and l love it.
Did you get it at Lebanon Valley Cycles?
I commute to Harrisburg on it as often as I can. Do you get down this way?
By the way there is a Pa web site, that predates this one.
I'll get the link and post it.

Hey All!

Both of these PA boards have been VERY quiet recently! What gives?? This is primo riding weather! What is everyone doing?

I just got back from a nice 4-day bike trip in the Shenandoah Valley area of VA and W. VA. We were lucky to have good weather, and a great time.

You will forever be known as JPfeiffer on this board (unless you change it). Your number looks like it is 240. You can find that by looking at the Member list. :D

Ragman,

Yes, we had a great time. I have been traveling through the area a couple of times before by car, but never on a motorcycle. The scenery was beautiful, and the twisties challenging. We hit the Skyline Drive, and alot of back roads in VA and W. VA. I would love to go back!

I would love to do that this summer. I was going to the Hoot but work had other plans. How long did it take you to get there? Did you stop over night?

We stayed for 4 days, and logged 850 miles. Another day would've been nice.

Hi Keith & John.
I used to live only 10 miles from the northern entrance to Skyline Drive. Lots of good roads to ride off the Drive, too. I still own property near Luray, which borders the Shenandoah Nat'l Park. Wife's mother still lives in Stephens City, VA, and we plan to ride the X there a few times this summer. Front Royal is only about 3 hours from us, Ragman. If you want to stay off I-95 I can give you good back roads to ride from here, thru Westminster MD, to Frederick MD, down Rt 340 to Front Royal. Or maybe you'd like to ride down to VA with Pat and me??

Steve,

I'll need to talk to you about the directions.

Just found out that I need to go to Amarillo next Tuesday and return the following week. Then I'll be off to Edwards Air Force Base on the 21st. Looks like this June is out for me to do any trips. My daughter is going to Hawaii for two weeks in July and I will need to stay near a phone while she is there so that will kill most of July. I'm probably looking at late July or August before I can plan anything.

Steve,

That's the route that we took. We took 30 out to York (visited the Harley plant), took 15 through Gettysburg and Frederick to 340, and 340 down to Front Royal. It was a nice trip. We stayed in Front Royal the whole time, and took a different trip every day from there. I would go back again.
