I've been out of the riding circuit for a while, over 10 years, Casper used to have a motorcycle awareness ride at the beginning of each riding season, does Cheyenne have anything like this? I would be interested in attending if we do.

Here's a good link for upcoming events. It's usually updated pretty good here lately.

Cheyenne's season starts out with the following (that I am aware of):
On Easter Sunday CMA has a Sonrise service with a ride to the Flying J for breakfast afterwards.
On April 28th there's going to be a ride called "The Four Seasons Ride". It'll run through Laramie down to Waldon and across the pass on 14 towards Fort Collins and back to Cheyenne.
On May 4th is the Motorcycle Awareness Proclamation signing on the capital steps.
On May 5th is CMA's Run For the Son to St. Joseph's Children's home in Torrington (advance sale ticket required) with a catered lunch with the kids.
On May 12th is the Dwayne Sells Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Festival.
On May 20th is the Stride Ride with a CMA Blessing of the Bikes too.
On May 26th Sober Riders MC is hosting a poker run.

For those who haven't heard, The Four Seasons Run started last year. We had a beautiful spring day at the end of April and a group decided to ride to Woods Landing for lunch.
By the time we got to the Lincoln Monument via Happy Jack, the wind was really howling, but we pressed on.
As we arrived at Woods Landing, it started to rain. We stopped for lunch and it just rained harder (after two hours of WAITING for food, that's why we aren't going back there), most of us decided the weather was nicer to the south, so we headed south.
As we got to the Colorado border, it stopped raining. As we headed east out of Walden, we started noticing icecles hanging from the road signs. We stopped at the top of the pass and a snowboarder coming down the hill just stared at us.
Well, it started to snow up there, so we took off. About the time it cleared up, a bike broke down (of course, not an X). Eventually most of the group took off to call for a truck (no cell service). It started to rain, hard and cold.
Once we had help on the way, in the form of a truck, most of us headed home. Our 4 hour lunch turned into a 10 hour ride that finished in sub-freezing temperatures with more than 100 miles of rain.
Those that stayed behind found a rope and decided to tow the bike down the mountain, through the rain and some hail, with water RUNNING across the road in places. They didn't get home until well after midnight.
Several of those on that ride have pledge to ride this year NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER. Join us, if you dare.
The MOB, Military On Bikes, is having a meeting at 0900 on April 6th, with a MOB sponsored ride to Estes Park to follow at 1000. Get the day off and come over Brian. Pass the word to the other riders at the Wing.

can you get ugly people onto the base for that?
Don, pm me your phone number, since I should have it anyways. There may actually be some people interested in getting their bikes blessed as well. I know that it is a new year for me and need mine taken care of. If not then, sometime.

I think the weather man just messed up my whole plan for the rest of the week. Where did the 60 degree Saturday go? And who replaced it with 32 degrees and snow? I was planning on riding down to the Easyriders show in Denver. May be taking to big of a chance doing that.
