The Booger (not The Booger MISSILE, just The Booger) still resides in the corner. The wheel has been re-tired    , now once it is shiny The BoBo can ride again.

The Titanium Neo is ready to go now. New sneaker on the front, fresh L.O.F., let's ride  .

Those stinkin' little white flakes just make me think that I must molt a little longer :? :?

Yea the Silver Sleek is close to transfer now as well. I just need a semi-descent day weather wise to get that machine to its anxious owner. 8)

It kind of gives me a chill of thinking about getting it to the winery now.

I'm sorta looking for some more lights in the front.. el cheapo ... not a lightbar.. maybe something I can put on the crash bars? More light for me to see at night, and to be seen better in the day. If anyone come across something in a parts store, WalleyWorld, VTXOA forum, ebay .. etc .. give me a heads up.

Also contemplating 'permanently' mounting my throw over bags so I can eliminate the strap that goes under the pasenger seat .. open to ideas.

Thanks ....

The Berbie, I think a piece of plexiglass or Lexan on the inside of your bags with some black wire ties/straps would work well and be practically invisible.

Options are almost limitless on lights, just pick some you like and mount them on your cat-catcher.

Herb,

Try JC Whitney. They have all kinds of el cheapo lights.

You could always duct tape a couple of flashlights to the crash bars. :a13:

Checked out driving lights at Wallyworld, Autozone, and Advanced Auto Parts Saturday. The were el-cheapo, but nothing that caught my eye. Don't see how I can mount a black light on my chrome crash bars. May have to break down and order sumpin'. ... keep your eyes peeled for something in a silver or chrome.. thanks guys....

Okay guys .. school me on lights. Can I get the same candle power out of an LED light while drawing less amperage? Or are the LEDs primarily for turn signals and the regular large bezels for driving lights? Do I want 55watt lights or is that overkill?

VTX ED
04-08-2007, 06:24 PM
Herbi, there has been alot of posts about 55w lights draw to much power for the VTX charging system which means we can't use lights with enough power to help us see better at night, so my idea is to have lights to help cages see us better so i would think LEDs would be good enough for that or even a set of extra turn signals with a bright bulb and a clear lens. Just my idea for what its worth. The only chrome lights i have found are the old style big square ones or high dollar lights for bikes. I have extra VTX turn signals if you want to try a set of them.

Herbie
04-08-2007, 09:07 PM
Thanks for the offer, Ed. But if I can't get myself some extra vision light at night, then it would probably be easier to go the headlight modulator route to help cages see me ..... I'll keep looking around and searching the site. I know guys have done driving lights on their crash bars ....

VTX ED

Herbi, most of the guys that do the driving lights do the Kurys or something like them for over $100, they are alot less lower power than 55w. They are nice if you want to spend the money.

You're not going to get the same intensity out of LED's that you would by getting halogen with out spending beaucoup bucks. LED's are measured in lumens vs candlepower for incandescent or halogen bulbs. If you're willing to spend the 2 bills on the high intensity Kury lights, or the Lazers, that'll do the job. The other option would be to cut your current drain on the bike by replacing all the bulbs of other running lights or turn signals with LED bulbs, and doing the plug-n-play flash controller. Don't bother with a load equalizer, as this only slows down your flashers but uses the same amount of power, you're not conserving this way. Once you do this, then you can add the after market halogens at a considerable lower price and have enough juice to run them. JMO.

Will probably use halogens and use a relay so as not to overload starter switch. Will run a separate fused wire from battery to power the additional lights. still in recon phase... open to any ideas.. thanks.

Herbie there are some cobra's on the classified site I have these on my C. I don't know if they will fit a 1300 R or not but they use different blinkers and every thing. Check 'em out and PM the Guy get a part # and see what he thinks and in the mean time I will try a product check.

It looks like it may fit the R I am not sure about the 1300 though I don't know what your forks and tree are like compared to the 1800

Tros,

Do you remember if the lights can be taken out of the Cobra lightbar easily and used with P-clamps elsewhere?

tros66
04-10-2007, 09:08 AM
Those lights can come off just by loosening a couple of bolts. I am not sure if they will fit w/ P clamps but I believe with the brain trust of the Bickersons we could, "Giter Done".
