Does anybody near Hillsboro, OH have Hard Krome pipes on a VTX 1300C? A guy at the dealer said HK 2.5" short straights were the pipes for me. I like them loud and rumbly. Just was wondering.

Would like to hear a pair before decided on a purchase.

Personally I think the Hard Krome Sideburner looks best and gives a great sound on the C model. JMO

Can't help you on the HK's but if you want to hear V&H I can help you there. I live in Mason.

Cant help with the hard chrome pipes but you can hear my Vance & Hines with the loud baffels on my 1800 F any time you want.
I live out near Marshal, lets ride sometime! ( if it ever warms up again )

Come to think of it, I was down at the Rarden shop once a couple of years ago and they started up a 1300 with Cobra pipes they had just installed for a guy, and they sounded pretty good!

Sweet. I have some church friends down outside Marshall. You are that close we definitely need to get together and ride. My wife rides too. She has an Aero 750. I can hardly wait for the weather to clear up. That would be nice to hear an 1800. I have read that the 1800 has a dual crankpin instead of the single crankpin like the 1300 which can create some pretty sweet sounds, but the 1800 runs circles around the 1300. This is my first big bike so I think I will be happy for a long time to come.

I like the fact that I can accessories the crap out of it. LOL

I have big plans for this 1300...pipes, hypercharger, kury grips, pegs, progessive shocks, solo seat, maybe a rear 200 tire too.

Big plans...LOL

Thanks for putting a shout out. It is nice to know someone else is closer than Cincy or Columbus.

So... what's wrong with Columbus?? I, for one, routinely ride all over this state for a good ride or to make a friend. If you have interest in seeing / listening to a good running 1300 with Cobra pipes and Hypercharger, give me a holler and I will meet you, say at the Rt 35 exit on I-71, or I could come "all the way down" to Hillsboro. Am retired, so I have the time to travel. PS: the photo shows neither the Cobras or the Hypercharger.

Whats wrong with CMH? 3 things....

1. The traffic!

2. The freakin traffic!!

3. The outrageous freakin traffic!!!

I oughta know, I was born there in 59, & lived there until 93.
I miss alot of things about CMH, but everytime I go back, ( usually about twice a month ) the crazy cagers drive me nuts! ( I think I mean that literally ) We live in a sort of motorcycle paradise down here, lots of curvy scenic state highways with very little traffic, even on weekends!

But Id be happy to meet up with ya sometime!

re: CMH

Born there '41... left '03. Trust me, I know, too. Now live in the country in Licking County where there also are open spaces, curvy roads, good road surfaces, etc. Love it out here. When I lived in Cols, it took over half hour just to find some open space where you could let the poor bike breathe! Here, I'm out the driveway and immediately in open country. Ride 06 VTX1300, 03 750ACE, '00 Shadow600, 98 750ACE, and '78 Moped. Wife rides Rebel250. Give me a call or email when y'all are out 'n' about sometime. Will come down to meet up.

Tom,
I wouldn't mind hearing your setup and going for a ride sometime. In fact, I am thinking of the exact same setup (cobra pipes with the hypercharger.)

I would have to agree with everything said about the city. I love the country, grew up in the country, love the slow pace, peaceful and just down home friendly people in the country. I love everything about it. That is probably why I never moved to the city, ever....

T-Boogy is right, we sure do live in a paradise for bike riding.

Say T-Boogy, I would have tried to hook up with you this past weekend, but my wife decided to lay down her bike going 0 mph. She is ok, just some bruises on her leg and more bruised ego. The bike needs a couple of very minor repairs, but is still rideable right now.

So, needless to say I wasn't in any mood to ride on Sunday, even if it was the best spring day we have had yet.

I am not sure what this weekend is looking like, but maybe we could meet and ride sometime in the next few weeks.

Not sure if you plan to do the Leesburg bike ride this summer, but there is a huge bike ride at the Methodist Leesburg church every year. Last year it was about 200 bikes. I plan to attend. I think it is in June or July.

Sunday wouldnt have worked for me anyway, one of my VTX buds decided saturday that we should ride the ATV's instead of the scoots on sunday. So I only got a quick ride in on saturday. But we rode the 4-wheelers most of the day sunday, man was I tired after that, it sure was a beautiful day!

Glad to here no one was hurt too badly over there, it happens, prolly ruined your day though huh? Trust me everyone knows how you feel.

Never heard of the Leesburg ride, glad you mentioned it!
Definetly let me know when you find out more about it, I will keep an eye open myself, I go right by there on a pretty regular basis. I drive a ready-mix truck out of Highland ( Hanson-Hillsboro ) Which one is the Methodist church?

Bob:

Let's get together. The only problem is going to be when. I have to go to Pennsylvania this weekend (after a short ride with Ohio VTXers early Sat AM). Then the following Friday I make my IBA ride from Columbus to Ft. Myers, FL and spend a week at my condo on Sanibel Island, and from there I go directly to Myrtle Beach for Bike Week. I figure about 4000 miles in 2 1/2 weeks. I know... it's my busy time of year. However... how about some evening next week. I will come to you. Weather permitting, I could leave here mid afternoon and be there when y'all get off work. Better yet, you and T-Boogy pick a time and place and all 3 of us can get together. Looking forward to meeting y'all.

Bob:

Forgot to mention in previous post - Sorry to hear about your wife's little experience. hope all is OK. Been there... Done that, too. I call my wife Ride 'n' Slide. October '05 my wife got blown off the road on a Honda Reflex as we crested a hill coming out of a wooded area. She stuck her leg out to push off the bank and get back on the road, which was accomplished - however, when she got the bike stopped in the center of the road and put her legs down, she did a perfect Artie Johnson routine. The bike leaned and there was nothing in that leg to stop the bike from going on over. Blew the knee all to Hell. It was 5 months before she would (or was able to) get back on a bike (as a driver). Yes, I think her ego was injured even more than her knee. Anyway, all is well now, and she traded off the Reflex for a Rebel 250, which she loves.

Later........... Old Fart

Tom,
That sounds great. I have a VA appt. on next Friday afternoon (May 4th) in Chillicothe. So, I could take the whole day off, which means I could be out riding on Thursday evening until whenever.

I would hate for you to ride all the way down to Hillsboro. Where is the halfway mark? Jefferson Outlet Mall on St.Rte 35 or something like that...I sure do miss Popeyes... LOL

Let's see what T-Boogy says. But I am up to it.

Thanks for the concern about my wife. She is fine.

Although, I told her she needed to get biker boots before she could ride again.

It was uneven ground and she was wearing more or less dress boots and so her ankle gave out when she tried to catch herself and without ankle support she was had.

Thanks again.

Evenings during the week usually dont work for me cause we stay busy at work until 6:30 or so. About the only time I can get off work at a decent time is when the weather is bad of course. But keep me posted, ya never know, sometimes things just work out the way we like.

When my brother ( who lives in Columbus ) would ride down to meet me for a ride, we allways met in Washington C.H. It was exactly a 45 min ride for both of us that way. And you avoid the interstate too. Maybe its just me but I try to take the state routes instead of the Interstates whenever possible. More enjoyable & less dangerous I think. But theres lots of places to get a bite & beverage at Jeffersonville also! Whatever ya decide I will try to hook-up with you guys.

Yeah, T-Boogy I agree with you there. I can't do the weeknights. I think we will try to hook up with Tom "Old Fart" after he is back from his trip.

Although, I do like your idea, T-Boogy, about meeting in WCH. That is usually the half-way between Hillsboro & Columbus, just like you previously mentioned. Forgot about that. LOL

It would be easy too, with just meeting up at Walmart gas station which is just off of St.Rte 35.

Anyways, just thought I would give you an update.

Thanks and Be Safe.
