My wife and I went to Morgantown and ate at the "Olive Garden" for her birthday and anniversary present. We came back through Phillippi, Buchannon, Elkins, Canaan Valley and on home to Thomas. Beautiful day, good ride and 234miles of pleasure.
Hope you had a good cruise too! 8)

I have to ask...does Phillippi still have the old covered bridge? Benn many years since I was last there.

A gas tanker truck was filling tanks at a nearby station and the fuel ran over, and headed down the street to the bridge and POOF, it was on fire. The damage was repaired, but all the years of weather, floods and turmoil that bridge has seen and it is nearly destroyed by a gas tanker!

Back in the early '70s I drove trucks for a kitchen cabinet company and had to take a load across that bridge ....I was like a cat in a balloon factory! I was by myself, the truck JUST did have enough clearance to avoid hitting the cross beams overhead....all the time I'm thinking over and over "This things older than dirt!" and about a million OMG mixed in....don't ever want to repeat that experience.
