ok i'm up here liveing in west chester and for the 1st. time since february i have goten to ride this weekend. (I moved from florida in feb.) I rode out to lancaster and tooled around there for the day and then headed back. i had a pretty good time just for the simple fact that i got to ride for the first time in what felt like for ever. but now i would like the opertunity to meet and ride with some people. Are there any bike nights that i should know about. down in florida we had a Quaker steak and lube that i used to frequent on wed. nights. Or are there any rides that have been planed that i might join in on. any info would be nice.

Welcome to PA and the PA VTX Riders.... please visit our main website and sign up at http://home.comcast.net/~pavtxer/ We DO use this as our main message board (of course). You might want to change your Avatar info to reflect PA instead of Florida... then we might also know where you are from... so we can give you some more info about events and rides (including Bike Nights). We also have a few Quaker Steak & Lubes that do bike nights as well.... and there is a post on the board about it.

If you're into long rides the Tionesta Bike Blessing on May 5 takes you through some nice country. Cook Forest State Park or Allegheny National Forest depending on your route. This would be quite a jaunt from West Chester.

Welcome to Pennsylvania.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but I will anyway.

Brett,
You mentioned Ephrata. That made me laugh. See, every August, I camp out in Amish country near Bowmansville/Morgantown area. As we ride around and come to crossroads, I always see arrows directing ya to Ephrata and how many miles it is. Things is, I don't think I've ever been there. We joke around try to guess which way and how many miles when coming up on an intersection. Maybe this year I'll make it a point to get there. You guys sure spend a bundle on those signs, so it must be a special place.

Welcome to PA. Get hooked up with those easterners. You'll meet some great people, have nice rides, and get tech help if needed.

Ride safe and often,

!!! You want a quaker steak and lube? Bloomsburg, PA is the nearest one to you.. Mapquest it, its worth it! If you want to go to the "first & original" quaker steak, they are located in the pittsburgh area.

Welcome Aboard! West Chester is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Unfortunately for you, by leaving Florida you have really limited your riding season...

But, when it is nice up here you will really appreciate a nice ride, unlike being spoiled by riding every day of the year in Florida, lol

Have fun this site is great.

Welcome to Chester County! I moved here from Florida a few years ago. I think you will find exploring the country roads around here relaxing and enjoyable. Fewer bugs here than in Florida too. I'm in Landenberg and pas thru West Chester frequently on my weekend (and occasional weekday) rides. I'm only about 20 miles from you with some nice roads in-between.

Checkout the following Routes for nice local riding:
100
926
841 & 842

322

Ninja,
I live in West Chester ( East Goshen ) . Hopefully you're enjoying some of the great backroads in our area. Shoot me a PM if you want to go out on a ride. Because of work and family (three boys, all playing sports) I'm pretty much limited to catching a few hours of riding time on the weekends but I generally find time to go out almost every weekend. If you can make the M&G on the 20th, there's a few of us from this area meeting at the Dunkin Donuts by the Exton Mall for a group ride out to Cabela's.

Welcome to PA. I live in Downingtown, which is a hop, skip, and a jump from West Chester. Let me know if you want to go for a ride sometime. As other have said, my time is limited too. I have a 4 month old daughter that keeps me busy when I am off.
