How bout meet up at the rest area just past Smokey Point at 5:30 or 6pm and run up to the Longhorn Saloon in Edison? That would be a pretty good ride & foods supposed to be good.
An even better ride up would be if we got off I-5 at Burlington and shot over to Sedro-Woolley, then take F & S Grade Rd. & Praire Rd. over to Bow and then on to Edison. I think it would only add another 20-30 minutes to the ride but looks like a nice little loop with twisties on the Google map and might be more fun than just going straight up I-5 then over thru Bow and into Edison.
I'll buy a beer for the first one to sign on for this ride. 8)

Eagle, would love too, but headed to Houston for the week on Tuesday. Work stuff. Good news is it's 80 degrees, bad news is I won't have time to ride down there. :(

I think I need to send the wife & kids back to Indonesia again this summer so I can get some riding in. :(
I'll be off work by then, but doubt I can get away.
Besides, how are you supposed to get there through Everett at that time of day? Have you seen I-5 through there at 5:00?!?!?
Even worse.. It's a beautiful day out there today!!

That really sucks, After waiting too long and collecting parts for long awaited mods, I finally put my bike up on a wooden Pepsx type stand and tore it apart. doubtfull it will even be up by the weekend. Stebel horn, Audiovox cruise, PCIII, LED accent lighting under tank and fenders, rear shock bushings..... Whew, I need to take a day or two off to get this cruiser back on the road. Am game for any rides after work up in the north end in the future though. Hope you make it and have a safe ride.

Eagle I think I am in. Just have to check on what time I need to pick up the kids that night. I live close to Edison so it should not be a problem.

Even head over to hwy 9 at hwy 530 into Arlington then north to Sedro-Woolley. That is the next exit north of the Smokey Point rest stop.

You could probably shoot straight up to the Longhorn Saloon in Edison and meet us there. Sam, Tony, & I and any others will take a while to get there as we are going to be riding some. Looks like I have to buy Sam a beer too.

I forgot that I will be taking my kids to school Thursday morning so I will have my car. However, I will run home after work to get the bike and meet you in Sedro Woolley. How about the AM/PM at the corner of hwy 20 and hwy 9 on the East Side of Sedro Woolley. There is another route to Prairie road from hwy 9. Let me know.

Hi Eagle and All
I like this style of bike night. Include a reasonable ride to a different location for the meet. You can still have a regular spot but a couple of times a month reach out to something new.
The only problem is the start time of 5:30 and the meet point. Unless you are north of Marysville or not working at that time it will be almost impossible for someone working (south of Marysville) to get there. I5 from Lynnwood north is usually a real parking lot. I think hwy9 is also a parking lot. The best route may be thru Everett?
But it is a great idea. I will try to make the 5:30 meet but dont wait for me. If I cant make that I will just head up to Edison on my own. This is the route that I would take.

I am heading out on a 4 day ride on Friday morning. So If I do not have my saddle bag patch done by then I will have to finish it Thursday night. If so I will not be able to make edison.
Thanks

Ok, how does this sound. I meet up with Sam and possibly Randy at the Smokey Pt. rest area and hit the road at 5:30 to meet up with Tony in Sedro-Woolley.
From there we have a lot of options folks. One thing I was thinking of was going up 9 from S-W up to Scooter Stuff at the bottom of Lake Whatcom (pretty cool little bike shop with lots of goodies). Then along the bottom of the lake and take Cain Lake Rd. South toward Alger and back onto I-5. Then on to Edison.
Everybody give it some thought and we can figure it all out at the Sedro-Woolley meet point. Tony you might want to lead us once we meet up as that is your neck of the woods and I'm sure you are familar with those roads. Never done much riding up there myself aside from chasing Tonys taillight one time
If this is too early for most of you we could leave a little later to give you all more time but we'd run out of day light pretty quick and I'd rather do this in the light.
Oh, and someone needs to talk Jon into playing hookie from work and coming with us. I think I can hear him developing a bad cough right now.

Yeah it's a pity about Jon getting sick. They say a nice ride in the country with some of your buds is a sure cure for what ails ya.
Meet me on the truck side of the rest area. Much less traffic there.

Weather is looking real sucky this morning. I don't want to do an extended ride if it stays wet. As long as it doesn't really start pouring down though I'm still game for a straight shot up to the Longhorn. Hell even if I get wet I always dry out eventually  I post again later this afternoon with an update. Still would like to have that beer with you guys.

As most of you know already I had to put my Rottie to sleep this morning so I'm not riding today. Don't think I'd be safe or very good company. If anybody want to try again tomorrow I'm game. Weather should be nicer too. Sorry guys.

I'm not going to make it either. Still to nasty out. Don't care for riding in the rain at night unless it is really necessary. Still real early in the season and there will be LOTS more opportunities. Does sound like a nice run though.

Did anyone end up meeting up??? I got off work and decided to see if I could catch up with anyone who made it. I didn't get there in time so I figured either no body showed up or I missed everyone. BUT I did try to get there. Just didn't get a chance to check here before I left. OH well maybe next time.
