Hello All,
I have been thinking about our next Meet and Greet for about a week now. I have been looking at State parks North and South. How does DevilÂ’s Hopyard State Park in East Haddam, CT sound to everyone? If you would like to take a look I have provided the link http://www.dep.state.ct.us/stateparks/p ... opyard.htm (http://www.dep.state.ct.us/stateparks/parks/devilshopyard.htm) . June 26th would be the date at 2:00. If anyone knows the area please suggest a place to eat or a route for a ride after the Meet and Greet.
Also I have included a link to pictures my wife took from our May meeting In Meriden. Sorry for the delay but our staff web server crashed about two weeks ago. Here is the link staff.som.yale.edu/sjj9/xridersmay04. do not use www in front of the URL.
From all indications it looks like we have a wonderful ride scheduled in July to Mt. Greylock. Unfortunately I will not be able to make either the 17th or the 24th. I am sure there will be plenty of posts and picturesÂ…. Manny.
Hope to see you all there :)

:D The Hopyard is a great place to have a picnic lunch. We could have a bite and then ride down the CT. valley toward Saybrook, jump over onto rt 156 along the shore and breeze a beach or two, cruise up through Niantic and from there head up toward Colchester to Harry's hamburger stand on Rt. 85 or head East toward Mystic. It will be less crowed if we head North and East into farm land but I will be :) as long as we are riding somewhere!

My wife and I just rode through (and stopped in) the Hopyard on Sunday. It was a beautiful ride. Chapman Falls is a picturesue location in the Hopyard. There are parking areas and picnic areas in several places.
As Ram Man indicated, there are some good rides in and around the area.
Depending on the weather, inland may be warmer. I live in Waterford and it has been cold and gray on the coast and sunny inland. Route 82 up towards Haddam and the country roads back around to Colchester also makes for a nice ride.
Anyway you go, it will be fun. :P

I was just at the Hopyard a couple weeks ago, it will be a great place to meet. It is a very nice place for a ride. from there I went to Gillete castle. nice ride all the way and back. I like the route that Ram Man sugested and stop at Harry's. What ever everyone decide I'll be there if the weather permits.

I'm there!!! Where do you want to meet? I recommend the parking lot above Chapman Falls or the picnic area below Chapman Falls.

My wife and I are both game. We lose the six pack brat pac for the weekend. Peace and tranquillity, unless Joel throttles up with his ssshhh quiet pipes.

Hi Everyone,
Mother nature may throw us a curve ball for Saturday. I'll be waiting until tomorrow afternoon to make any determination on Saturday so we are as sure as possible what the weather will be.
Email me Friday afternoon at rich@massxriders.com or check our website at www.massxriders.com (http://www.massxriders.com) to see if we are going to have to postpone.
Hope for the best!

Sorry folks but I have to postpone due to weather. I appologize. I know many of you have been looking forward to getting together and doing this run for a long time now...as have I and Brian and others who have worked hard on putting this together.
The new date will be Saturday June 26th with a rain date of Sunday June 27th.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a crappy overcast day with showers beginning around 4pm in the Sterling area. I considered having us just head out and have the lunch without the run around the Quabbin. However the rains are supposed to begin on the Cape around 1pm....so they would get stuck on the ride home. I also considered moving the run to Sunday. However the rains are supposed to continue in many area's until 9am Sunday, not to mention many are preparing to go or are leaving for Americade on Sunday.
Americade and Laconia take up the month of June until the 20th...so we are left with the weekend of June 26/27 as the soonest possible date.
Again I appologize for the cancellation. I hope many of you will get together with each other between now and then...it's only three weeks from now so it's not like we have to wait forever. For a few this may even work out better since some couldn't make it tomorrow due to other issues.
Hope to see you on the 26th!
Rich

The CT X-riders date remains the same. We will meet at the Hopyard as planned. We can meet the Mass riders another time. We have business to discuss and patches to get done.
