Are you guys reading on the 1800 Tech Board about this B&B Performance Computer? Follow along and let me know what you all think about this pricey piece of equipment.  8)

I just read the whole thread, not sure what I think of it just yet. Sounds like it does what it is supposed to do well. Not sure if it actually will subtract fuel (you asked the question and I didn't see a direct response to that). Not sure about cutting a hole in your brand spanking new pipes to experiment with where to put an O2 sensor  . If you go with it, you know I'll install it for you  .

If it is really a "closed" system wouldn't that mean that it would have to add & subtract to adjust to the air flow?

I believe "closed" system just means that it has an O2 sensor (which gives the module feedback telling wether the system is running rich/lean).
It could control that by adding fuel (if running lean), or not adding fuel (if running rich). The PCIII actually will subtract fuel if running rich, I'm not sure if any of the other controllers will do that.

i'm still fuzzy on the sensor, otherwise i'm interested in seeing one in person. tech nite? :P

The difference between them seems to be that the BB utilizes a constant monitoring, vs the pcIII which has a set ratio on the a/f mixture based on your map at a given rpm. You can also vary the mixture as kfc mentioned, it's done manually though, there are buttons and a LED scale of rich to lean to change that setting........at least my pcIII has that, not sure if newer ones do as well.

I have been communicating with prime45 now since last summer. He live in NC someplace in the Mts. I believe. Well every once in a while I will here from him. He grew up in Waterloo and knows some people that I know there.

He drop me a line just as I was reading his comment on the BnB and said his was coming today. I wrote back asking how things were and he will be here for Sturgeon '07 as well. Looking forward to meeting these outa staters coming all the way here for our Sturgeon Run '07. I am impressed!!!!

While he was writing back his BnB arrived and he said it looks real simple to install and that he has had a PCIII and he stated that it is just lacking something and that he will change his air box once in a while and is custom making exhaust from his stock headers and he liked the idea that the BnB will change with him and not having to remap the whole thing. He is going to send pics and play by play to me as he goes about installing. This could be an interesting piece of equiptment here boys.

This thing works for ALL FI motorcycles and if it truely adjusts itself well that is $$$ saved in fuel (going to go to $4 agallon this summer some are saying) and no more mapping.....

I will be anxious to hear and see what Prime45 has to say.

I guess the question is how much tweaking do you think you need to ride happily? I threw on the pcIII because it was a steal, but I was happy with my performance prior to.......I'm certainly waiting for the "newness" to wear off by a few hundred dollars before I go making holes my bike's exhaust to put a O2 sensor in.

I certainly don't have that kind of cash to go do that either I am just intriqued with the idea of bettering my fuel consumption with out worrying if I go over 65 mph. CT and 1300 FD I do believe had the same resistance as what you guys have presently. I want to see it and get a true, honest what do you think, from many people before I would jump on board. It sounds to good to be true at this point. I want to know why so expensive as well. Believe me I was wondering why I spent $179 for the fuel nanny to help the C run "smooth" when all you other guys had nothing on your rides and they ran as smooth with out a fuel manager.
I don't care about more power or running faster, I care about the $$$ that I piss through the tank doing 20,000 miles a year. If I can make an investment and save that within the year I believe it is worth it I guess.
Research and questions and staying tuned in will let us know eventually. It is worth talking about as well. Thanks for being honest and I value all your opinions.

I kinda like my J-cruisers. I kinda like Jesus in fact. But what I don't like is feeding the FAT oil companies as they make their Billions.

Your J-cruisers have petroleum based products made possible by the FAT oil companies.........maybe you can switch to corn husks for ethanol and slippers, make an Iowa farmer rich instead.

I believe that Hemp is the way to go. Oil unfortunatly is in everything that we use thanks to plastic so I guess I get to choose how I support the Big Oil companies.

On a much healthier note. I did order my Vance & Hines today and will be patiently waiting to be heard....FINALY So Kfc when they get here I guess I will have to treat you to some food... again. Thanks.

The big government likes us using big oil, they make five times more money off it than the big oil companies do, everyone one should ride bikes and they both would be in trouble. Thats why i bought a little SUV, i fell sorry for both of them. LOL

Hey, I noticed you said you had the Jet lowers on your bike. Where and how do you have them to eliminate the head shake that occurs when driving on the highway? I installed them with the clamp about 3/4" below the crossmember tween the forks. Angled them so they almost hit the highway bars when the bars are turned all the way and have not found them to be awesome like I read about. Put 300 miles on the other day and when I got off the bike it still took me awhile to focus straight. Also when driving I can't even read the license plate in front of me that clearly because of this shake. If I duck my head a little behind the shield it goes away. Whats the dealio with these......

thanks
