Hey guys we are trying to set up a Wednesday Evening Bike Night, everyone is welcome if you don't mind riding too far. We are thinking about Deer Park or Dix Hills, suggestions are welcome as to a meeting place.

Since this is a first - Hows Wednesday Evenings at 7:00 - Dont know what everyones work schedule is, we can make it later if you like.....

Later (like 8 PM) will probably always be easier for me, but I don't mind trying for earlier.
This coming Wednesday, 8 will probably be the earliest I could make it, due to a business golf outing that afternoon.
I'll do my best to work with whatever is easiest for everybody else, anyway.

how about the nathans in oceanside? i hear there is some sort of car/mortorcyle gathering that has been going on there for years . it might be fun to go to a place where there are lots of cars and bikes gathered .maybe it is similar to sunday morning at obi. here is somthing i just came across to confirm it

Either location is OK with me. I'm pretty much in the middle (Massapequa).
If any of you guys have a preference, let's hear it.
It would be nice if we were all heading to the same Nathan's...

massapequa ...huh . i am in seaford . i just got my 1800 on friday . i would love to go check out the nathans in oceanside . i cant say how good it is cause i have never gone but i remember hearing about it as a cruising spot for years and years . i hear there is a nice turnout if the weather is good.

Nyvtx1800 is leaning more toward Island Park.

If the weather holds and I don't see any heading our way on the radar,

I'll be out at Nathans in Deer Park tonight between 6 and 7.

If someone wants to make it someplace else, or change the time (earlier or later is ok by me)... let me know before 5PM.

Otherwise, I'll see whoever out there.

Well I just checked the weather radar map, looks real iffy...if it's still decent out by 5:30pm then I'll go, if not maybe next week.

Ok... 5:40 here. Radar looks iffy, and it's getting dark out to the west here in Long Beach.

I think we'd do better to meet up another week, or maybe even Friday or Saturday evening.

Almost 3PM, and it's looking like today's not gonna improve enough for me to take the bike out. Cloudy all evening, not very warm.

You know, for a day like today... if we had been able to organize one in advance... would have been a good "wrench party" day. Had one of those one time in a car club in Carolina where we all got together and helped each other with bolt-on & tuning mods to our cars.

Hi, my name is Joe and I just recently purchased a VTX 1300C. It is my first bike and I have had it for about a month now, and love everything about it. In fact, I just recently got it back from my 600 (759) mile service.

I was introduced to this site by a gentleman who owns the same motorcycle. I am sorry for forgetting his name, but he was way more experienced than I was, and he was also very enthusiastic about this site.
Thanks to him, I have learned a lot more about my motorcycle, through this site. I can't say how great this site is for a new rider such as myself.

I had a question about the Nathan's Night on Wednesday. This coming wednesday, will there be something going on at the Nathan's in Oceanside? A buddy of mine was not sure but said that there might be nothing going on at the Nathan's in Oceanside. Please tell me this is not true. I really want to check it out.

Also, I am a member of a club called BBRC or Beginner Bikers Rider's Club. Our website can be found at www.beginnerbikes.com (http://www.beginnerbikes.com) . It is just as helpful as this site, especially for a beginner like me, and the members I have had the great fortune of meeting are now personal friends, and even more, mentors to me. When you have a chance, please check out our site. It is a great site. Many of the members I have met are not beginner bikers. They have been riding for a long time, but choose to help out the newer members of the riding community. I have so much to thank them for.

I am sorry for going on and on, but if somebody has time, please confirm that there will be a BIKE/Auto night at Nathan's in Oceanside this Wednesday. Thank you.

I'm the guy you bumped into last weekend at the old OBI parking lot.
I'm glad to see that you remembered to check out this site. I'll be taking a look at the beginnerbikes site you mentioned as soon as I finish typing this post...
As far as Nathan's goes -- earlier in this thread, nyvtx1800 posted a link to a thread on a car site. That thread was about Wednesday nights at Nathan's in Oceanside. nyvtx1800 (who lives in Seaford) wants to check that one out. Some of the other guys (who live further east) would prefer the Nathan's on Deer Park Avenue in Deer Park. I can't yet tell how it'll all shake out. Stay tuned and find out!
Maybe I'll catch up with you again on Wednesday evening at one Nathan's or the other.

the only thing is the nathans in deer park isnt known for having a meet and the one in oceanside has been going on for years

The one in Oceanside is also known to have problems requiring law enforement at times too.

Oceaside is a bit too far if some of the gusy are comming from the East.
Deer Park seems to be a good middle ground.

And Radar has a good point, last thing we need is a problem....
