We dodged the bullet (thank god). Looked pretty intense for a while, but never amounted to much more than rain. Recieved an email from Dawn (LadyRider) this morning, and I guess her parents got hit. They live just south of cannonfalls. Lost a bunch of trees and such, but luckily no damage to the house or out-buildings. We needed the rain, but keep that other**** elsewhere!!

I'm on a farm just north and east of Cannon...lost lots of heavy branches..no trees down yet (wet ground may loosen some up in the fence lines) but it did look dicey there for awhile. Sorry to hear about LadyRider's folks. I've met her once and she seems like good people. My grandparents got nailed in the 1969 Palm Sunday tornadoes. I agree, give us the rain but keep that other**** elsewhere.

It was pretty bad out in Plymouth at my parents' too. Trees cracked in half and roofs torn off.

I've been there before...the cleanup sucks. Glad your parents are alright though...that is what matters most

Thanks for the offer of help Rob, but I think me and my old 22" Poulan can tackle what we have at this point. 50cc of high revving cutting power. Good bonfire material by fall...no biggie...agreement on what matters most. So far, so good.
By the way, anybody need about 60 feet of good straight well weathered black walnut logs? This is a thick mother and I've cut about all I'm gonna off it. Easy to get to if someone's got some heavier equipement and wants the wood. Bigass stump too.
Wow, I missed the news yesterday and didn't realize it got that bad out there. Hopefully everyones alright.

Hey slade...you might try putting that black walnut on Craigslist. I am guessing it is a desireable wood for carving and wood working. Atleast, I seem to remember it being that way. If I had more time, it would be fun to cut a new muzzleloader stock out of it

Yeah, good weathered wood can fetch a decent price. You never know

Good idea on Craigslist. Never even entered my mind. If there's a sale, of course there'll be a commission....
Yep put that sucker up for sale. My late grandpa was a wood working fool and loved that stuff. He made some beautiful stuff with it.

Just got back from my parents house not too long ago.. and official weather guy came down surveyed the damage and confirmed an F0 tornado with at least 75-85 mph winds hit my parents place just southwest of Cannon Falls.
I sent Rob a couple pics, maybe he can post them.. took out alot of big Oaks.
