Anyone ever rafted with USA Raft or the Nantahala Outdoors Center??
Any good or bad things to say about either one of them??
I'm thinking about rafting the Nolichucky River on the TN/NC border on my next trip down your way....

My sons and I went backpacking / rafting with boy scouts a few years ago. Hiked 36 miles on the AT ending up at NOC on the Nolichucky River. Spent the next day rafting. The river is class III and IV and is challenging and fun.
There is a campground at the NOC site.
Are you riding (MC) down?

We used them a couple years ago. Good guides and a fun time. We got the big multiple person rafts the first time and the funyaks the second.
I like the one man inflatables better but it's a awesome time either way.

I used the NOC about 2 years ago. They were ok to deal with. Havent been on the nolichucky just the nantahala and the ocoee. The nantahala is a good river for the family the ocoee is good for a near death experience.

The river you are going to is less than 45 minutes from the house. the guys at NOC ahve a good outfit and the river is class 3 and a few class 4 rapids. If the chance comes up, go on down to the OCOEE and take the all day trip that takes you on the UPPER and LOWER OCOEE river. You get to go thru the olympic course section as well as several class 4's. 8)
