Finally moved to Idaho about two months ago and have been on several rides around the area....but I have yet to see another X. Where are you guys???

I rode over to the Honda dealer in Clarkston, Wa and looked around. They had several Shadows and a couple of 1300's but no 1800's. I asked the salesman and he said they dont carry the 1800's because they were "inferior" to the 1300's. I just about pissed myself. He complained the 1800's were too big and did not handle as well as the 1300's and that they were over-powered. Needless to say as a "salesman" he did not win any brownie points with me. As I was walking out the door I passed two M109R's and said "over-powered huh?" He just turned and walked away.

So since the Honda dealership here doesnt like 1800's I guess that's part of the reason why I havent seen any. Inspite of all of this I am still glad to be in Idaho and am looking forward to meeting some of you.

Carl's down in Boise does the same thing. Said they had 2 1800s on the floor most of last year and they just wouldn't sell. Not sure why. There's one 1800 they have on the floor now that's been there a month or so. They turn 1300s over inside of a week or two at most (if they are a desireable color). I think it might just be the type of riders in Boise. Most are short-haul riders. A lot of people who go in there think of the 1800s that they stock as more long-hauler bikes (they outfit 'em with saddlebags and windshields most of the time).

Welcome to Idaho!

wow. Makes me want to trade down to a 1300.... There are a few 1800's running around near Coeur d' Alene and Spokane. If you ever plan on heading up this way, let me know. Three of us get out on a ride once in a while (2 of us have 1800's- the other 2 have Shadows). A month or so ago, we ran down HWY 95 through Lewiston/Clarkston and made a loop through Pomeroy and back up to Spokane. There are a lot of nice places to ride around here. Congratulations on getting moved to Idaho!

Um... I forgot how to count - there are FOUR of us (only three of us went on that ride through Lewiston though).

Thanks guys....I have been enjoying Idaho, although it's a lot different than Arizona. I started working in Pullman and will ride the bike from Lewiston when I can. Both my wife and I ride (1800 R for me and 750 Aero for the wife) if you ever make it through the area please let us know. We'd love to hook up. Besides were anxious to get out and see more of the country side.

Welcome to Idaho :). Bunch of you Californians movin' up here! Don't let the frost stop ya. That's what winter gear is for. I plan on riding as long as there's no snow on the ground.

Be safe!
