Just for a heads up.

It's been about I year but I was bored today and rode US 42 from Louisvile to 1188 at Markland where I crossed over into Indiana. ( On my way to Sunrise to donate some money for a needy cause. :) )

US42 is scenic and has been one of my favorite local roads but its like riding through a trailer court. It seems like there are bumps every hundred feet or so through the entire stretch. It was bad last year but its gotten much worse.

It sure takes some of the enjoyment out of the ride.

Hey Mad Cow
A phone call to KY DOT will go a long way. They are probably aware of the needed repairs but the more complaints they get will only speed the process

That section and one a few miles north are terrible. Seems the riverbank can't stay stable and the road keeps slipping. I know there has been an attempt at repairs but they just don't last long. The entire surface needs to be taken down and the area leading to the river needs to be stabilized somehow. All of those steel and stell scrap haulers don't help much either going to the mills in Carrollton. You are right, a very scenic but, not very comfortable ride through there.

Amen brother. I work at the Power Plant right there. Not just the steel trucks, semis are up and down that road all the time. It gets worse every year.
