In case some of you haven't seen the latest "Meet & Greet" posts, we are going to try for a meet this Saturday, June 12th, around lunchtime. I think we settled on the "Hooters" at US Rt. 1 and Rt. 202, in Chadds Ford, PA. It's central to Delaware and Chester counties, and DE state. It's not a bad ride for those in Montgomery County, either. We can meet in the lot, check out the rides, grab some eats, and maybe take a short ride. I have about 4-5 positive responses, so far. Please let me know if you're interested, if you have questions, or if you need directions. This is just a last-minute casual thing, to get together and say "howdy". Weather's going to be great!

All VTX's are welcome.

OK Chris,

We've had requests for "late morning" and "early afternoon", so we might as well compromise, and make it noon.

Sound good to everyone? Ragman, start working on the wife NOW.

Count me in, too. Sorry for not replying earlier, I was on a business trip to the Poconos Monday and today, just got back this afternoon. We made a commitment to attend a church picnic this Saturday afternoon at noon, and were going to take the bike, but you guys win out. See, Ragman isn't the only one who sacrifices! Like Gus sez, "It's all about the ride".
I didn't make the HRC meeting on Monday becuz I was in the Poconos. Gus, where is the ride on the 20th? All it said on the e-mail I received was "Southern Chester County"....you guys ain't comin' over HERE without telling me first, are you?

Steve,

Wow, we really appreciate you throwing the Holy Rollers over for us, pal! I just hope that Ragman doesn't get in trouble at home. I hope he has a clean bike, too. I don't want to be embarrassed! LOL.

I can't make the ride on the 20th. Chuck always has the rides on the weekends that I work. He said at the meeting that they were just going to go tooling around Chester Co, for about 4 hours. No definite plan.

See you on Saturday!

CaptnGus,

I e-mailed the members of the Delaware Chapter to let them know of this ride since we do not have any organized events. So far Mike Riley is in as well (retired Delaware Law Enforcement). So I figure between you and him we have a green light to do atleast 100mph towards our destination. :D This is looking like we could have a pretty good turn out.

Thanks CaptGus but I know the area well. Been down there for business a few times. I'm gonna be taking Rt. 100 to 202 so I can stay off the turnpike and 95. I figure it's about a two hour ride but if I'm a little late make sure you save me a wing or two.

See ya all there!

Ride Safe!

MedicPWC,

I haven't heard from the other Delco or Philly guys, yet. We are meeting at Hooters at noon, so we could meet at Marple Crossroads at 11:30. If you think time is going to be too tight, you can just meet us at Hooters when you can. We should be there for a little while.

Sounds like we got us a great bunch on Saturday! Looking forward to it, and the latest weather report is for temps in the mid-70s and sunshine.

GreenVTX, from Bethlehem there are bunches of ways to come. When I go to or thru Allentown, I have been taking route 222 to Reading, then 422 to I-176 then down Route 10 from Morgantown. You can jump off Route 10 at Honeybrook, take 322 East toward Downingtown, then 82 South to route 1. Then Route 1 North to 202. Only traffic is on 222/422. Of course, there are plenty of other side roads, too. I work for the company that has the tallest building in Allentown, so that tells you why I go there sometimes. Before that I worked for a company that has a facility between Easton and Bethlehem on Freemansburg pike.

ChefCPB, my wife works in Hockessin next to the tack shop on Yorklyn Road. She'll most likely be ridin' 2-up with me on Saturday. Ragman is stopping here first at 11 AM.

Looking forward to seeing y'all on Saturday at noon!

I hosed down the bicycle for you tonignt. Got the heavy stuff off. Hope you don't mind a little tar, bugs and smudges. I just want you to know that I broke my rule by hosing down in the middle of spring. I promiss not to park close to you.

Ragman!

LOL...you can park next to me anytime. I'd be honored.

You cleaned your scooter this early? Are you keeping it covered up until Saturday morning? Man, I will have cleaned my bike at least 3 more times before meeting up on Saturday. I'm going for a ride Friday, too.

Just kidding! You said you cleaned it once this year already. That's good enough for me. The point is to get out there and RIDE.

LOL...yeah MedicPWC, and YOU started this whole thread!

Don't be bummed, life happens. I'm only off every other weekend, and I'm tied up for alot of those, too. Maybe you could just run out for an hour, just to stop and say 'hello'. In any case, I'm sure that we'll be doing this again. We have over a dozen bikes expected to show up.

Take care,
Gus

Today was awesome...great people....great weather....many good looking X's! It was good meeting everyone and thanks Gus for putting this together and leading our ride. Those were some good roads.

I posted a couple pix on the general message board here http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewtopic.p ... 324#154324 (http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=154324#154324)

Hey Guys!

Did you guys run right home, and get on your computers? I was too busy cleaning my X! Ragman, you are a piece of work! Thanks for taking us on that nice little ride.

Yes, I had a great time. It was a pleasure meeting everyone, and seeing those bikes (green ones included). I thought I had a decent machine, before I saw your bikes. We had 12 VTX's, which isn't bad for a last minute get-together. We will have to do it again sometime, while the weather is good. Someone can shout out a location where we can hook up next time. Hopefully, even more X'ers can make the next one.

Ride safe,
Gus

Great bunch of guys. Thanks for allowing a Delawarean in on the get together. Sorry I could not stick around for the ride but my wife would have castrated me if I bailed on dinner with her boss. The bikes were beautiful and I got a few ideas on what I want to do next. I am up for a the next meeting and hoefully a nice long ride.

06-13-2004, 10:11 PM
Great job getting this together Gus, I really had a good time meeting all of you guys. It was pretty cool seeing all of our X's together.see you guys next time out. :)

I'll make it unanimous and add my kudos to everyone who showed up yesterday. Sure was a great day, good weather, and great "X"'s !!
It was really neat to see how no 2 were even CLOSE to looking alike! That's one of the reasons why motorcycling is so much fun, because it allows each rider to personalize their own ride according to their likes, their desires, and (of course) their wallet!!

IT shows what fun we can have without a lot of work! We should make this a regular meet. I suggest trying it the 2nd Saturday of July, that will be July 10. I live in Chester County, but I don't want to influence the site unless the majority want to meet somewhere in Chester County. Since we met in Delaware County in June, let's try Montgomery County next. There's a Wal-Mart in a small shopping center right on Route 100, just north of Route 422. If someone knows the area well, maybe they can suggest a watering hole like Hooters or something so we can get a little eats and then set out on another ride. Any takers? Want to try something sooner?
Thanks again for your comraderie and for the start of a great friendship. Pat and I really enjoyed the day. (Spent most of today staining the gazebo in the backyard!!).
Steve (gotta change my handle from 02vtx18r to something easier!)
I have some digital pics to post. If someone wants them onto a particular site, let me know.....

Steve,

I'm off on July 10th, so I can meet you any place that's suggested. Let's do it. Anybody else available?

To All My VTX Brothers,

AGAIN!!! It was great meeting you all on Saturday. I saw & learned so much about my bike by listening to the multiple voices of knowledge & wisdom I met thru you guys that my Kuryakyn/Cobra Wish List has more than doubled in length. :) Now I just need to find the cash for all this wishing to come true. I did enjoy our Meet! Hopefully next time I can make the ride, too! So now, when can we do this AGAIN!!! :mcrider: July 10th will be good in MontCo if we could meet a little earlier, (I have the same meeting every 2nd Sat. at 3PM). I had a ball!

John

Who knows, I might even get my wife to come next time... :o
