Because some a*hole stole my flip front full face. Moved to my new apartment the other day. 3rd night here. Came home from work today around 3:30 opended the garage door. It is right across from my apartment and I can see it as I type.
Thought I would go for a little ride and left the garage door open while I changed my shirt and check emails. Did a couple other things but headed back to the garage around 4:30.
My brain said right away your helmet is gone. It was on the passanger back rest. But gone now. Son of a Bit*ch. Lesson learned I guess. Even in the comfort of your own garage on a private street with no traffic other then those who live there? I think if I had at least did the chin strap up no one would have spent the time to undo it.
Is there deductable on renters insurance. Should I claim it. HJC with smoke face shield around $240???
Thanks

+1 with Dave, i'll tag along
and +1 with Pinky, claim the Shoei helmet unless your insurance requires a reciept (like anyone keeps those anyway)
get your money's worth if you're gonna file a report,
only drawback, if it does show back up, you can't claim your original helmet
(but you'll be ahead like $200, so who cares)
anyway, sorry to hear about your unfortunate story.
living on a quiet street in a house, it's a little easier because the garage is attached, but i always close the door unless i'm inside it.
good luck Randy...
