I guess it'll be into July or August when I get back from the Hoot before I can make any plans for a group ride with y'all (sorry... my suthern, redneck verbage coming tru there!). But after that.. sure, just let me know.

Maybe we can make a lobster run across the O.P. ferry to Mystic or Arragansett sometime. We do that with my work riding group sometimes... makes a good day trip.

i went over to nathans in oceanside and it was kinda dead . just a bunch of cars . maybe it was too late ? we definitly made the right choice with deerpark. ill see everyone there next week i hope . if anyone wants to go riding pm me with a phone number .

Dont know if we have any people who like to sleep late...so do we have any suggestions on a time frame....????

Also since there is no "Food" out at the OBI, we can try to head for Breakfast after we hook up...

I was thinking ( a rare moment I have once and a while ) perhaps we should get a phone list together of all the VTX owners on L.I.....
and yes I will be happy to include any one we can ride with even if they do own " Other Bikes " and wish to be included.

If you send me a PM with a contact number, I will have a list created and e-mail it back to you. This may help in planning some rides etc.

Radar Contact had a great plan of a Wrench Turning Get Together, helping out one another with accessories and or mainteance.

Well... the "high time" at Captree is normally 9:00AM on Sunday morning. Of course, some arrive earlier (the get a better spot towards the center), and some arrive later.

For those of you who've never been out there... this is a car & bike social. Old muscle cars, the Cobra Club, Ferrarri Club, a few Vipers, etc... and of course LOTS of bikes: cruisers, tourers, sport bikes, etc.

Sometimes I've seen the event spill completely out of the large parking lot there, and onto the side street out front. That would be about 300-400 vehicles of all types.

WARNING! If you do plan to cruise out there... WATCH YOUR SPEED!!. The state troopers, park police, and suffolk county police all know we meet there on Sundays, and patrol the parkway. They'll usually give you 65, but I wouldn't push it much beyond that.

At 10AM, the crowd begins to thin out some... though there are still bikes drifing in & out of there all day.

Breakfast/Brunch afterwards sounds good to me. I don't have to be at work until 3PM.

The only thing with Captree in the summer time is they charge 6.00 for parking. If you are just going to hang out for an hour or two, it isnt worth it. There is a great breakfast place in Riverhead. It is a nice ride and a lot of bikes hang out there on Sunday Morning. It is called Crosswinds and is about 4 miles from the last exit on the LIE. The breakfast is a buffet for 10bucks. Good food and a nice place.

The only downfall about the old OBI is there is nothing to drink or eat there.

On Thursday Nights the big bike hang out is in Freeport at the Nautical Mile. There is a bar there called McCormick and Schmidts (or something like that). It is a great ride on Ocean Parkway and then to Merrick Road.
