I am trying to gather some information for work about a radar station in sweetwater county. It is south of Arrowhead Springs, off of radar tower road, which comes off of Aspen Mountain Road. The station is approximatly 12 miles south of I80 and 10 miles east of 191. the coordinates from google earth are: 41 26 4.84, -109 7 2.87 You can copy and paste that directly into google earth's searchbox. Any help / information will be greatly appreciated. I am trying to figure out what it is used for, weather, etc, and who operates it... I work for a company that is looking at a development project in the area, and don't want to pursue the project if it would eventually cause problems with anything of that sort in the area.

I don't post much on here, but you can look me up on the Texas X Riders board, murray_61 and either give me a reply here, a pm on the tx board, or email me at the email address on my profile...

Thanks! Ride Safe!

I'll see what I can find out. I'm not sure how lucky I will be, but I have a friend who works on towers across the state and maybe he can find out for me. If not I can ride down and just look at it and see whose name is on the side :)

It may take me a few days so if time is very critical please continue to search. I'm about 120miles away from it but always looking for a reason to take a trip.

Thanks! I am going to try to talk to some people in the county tomorrow, and see what I can find out. I discovered it too late in the day to contact them today. Don't know if I will find out anything. I don't know how to put good directions on here, but if you go to: http://maps.google.com/ and type in the city, state you are leaving from, and paste this as the end address:

41.4346777778,-109.117463889 ("41 26 4.84, -109 7 2.87")

it should give you exact directions, although it might include dirt roads? I don't know, have never been up there. Had some friends that went to Wyo Tech, but I think they are back in Texas now. I'll post up again if I find out more information. I do appreciate the reply... If there is anything else I can do, let me know...

Thanks!

I plugged the cords in my GPS and checked my maps and found the location and best route. The problem is I'm still waiting on my teaching schedule for Sep (I teach the MSF across the state) I still don't know when I'm teaching or what location. Hopefully I'll get sent to rock springs to teach next weekend and I can find out 100% for you.

Another thought is to check with the FCC and see if they can give you a heads up on who owns it.

He didn't know who owned them and I'll be teaching the other side of the state so I won't be able to go look at it in person. Sorry. I may have one other connection, but I'm not sure if he'll know anything or not. It appears we don't have any VTXOA people on that side of the state :?

Well, I am about to put the project on the back burner for a bit, so maybe I'll end up making a trip up there to do a little recon, not too bad, never been to Wyoming so it'll be exciting. I do appreciate the attempt. Hope all is well...

Ya'll ride safe now ya hear...
