Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a new VTX 1300 Retro owner out of Jonesboro. Just found this board, looks like a great place to hang out some.

Can anyone recommend some good websites and catalogs for VTX accessories?

Thanks all!

Glad to have you aboard. I live in Newport and I know there are a few members in JBR area too. Do you ride with a club over there?

Thank you

Kenny

Hi Grizz,

I lived in Hardy from '83 to '89, graduated from Highland. Beautiful country is right, lots of good riding too.

Did you go to that rally they had there a few weeks ago?

I bought my bike about 4 weeks ago after buying a new Honda Shadow Aero 750...Had that bike exactly 3 weeks and traded it in for the 2004 VTX. WOW...what a difference...love this bike.

I used to work in Newport...in fact, I managed the laboratory at Newport Hospital for 5 years.

So far, I have added to my bike, Leatherlyke Studded Bags, Kuryakn ISO-Grips and have the Ultimate Seat on order right now. I think I am done for this year. :P

If you are ever in this area...shout at me.

Safe riding to ya!

hello J-alan I ride with a national club with a chapter here in Jonesboro. www.southerncruisers.net/ (http://www.southerncruisers.net/) we have many members but usually only 6 10 folks ride. there are about 5 or 6 VTX's in out group if you care to ride with us sometimes. we ride quite often although as it heats up I think we ride less and less. send your e-mail address to me and I will add you to my address book.

Miles...

The name sounds very familiar. Wow that was a VERY long time ago...we are getting soooooo OLD.

Anyway, I still keep in touch with John...what a great guy. I miss working at Blytheville (the old days)...probably better now though. But I left right after Baptist took over.

I am the Clinical Laboratory Coordinator here at White County Medical Center...which is basically what you are...the chief tech. I do lots of computer work and a little bench work...a troubleshooter type of position.

I bought my VTX about a month or so ago and am still "customizing" to my liking, but love riding after a 15 year hiatus.

I am married to Lee Ann Stanley (she worked in the lab too), and have been married to her for 8 years (although been together for about 13 years).

I stay pretty busy with my other hobby/2nd job...being a photographer. I shoot mostly high school sports, but also some Razorback games (3 last year including the Independence Bowl), and some concerts (both local and bigger concerts, ie. Willie Nelson).

Last year (without a bike I might add), I went to Little Sturgis by myself to shoot some pictures. And shoot I did...I shot about 1800 pictures in 2 days. HAD A BLAST!!

Lee Ann and I are planning on going to BOTH Sparks America and Little Sturgis in the coming weeks. Should be fun!

So I would love to ride sometime with ya'll, just hope that I can find the time at the same time ya'll ride. Can't hurt to try though.

Here is my email: searcysports@searcysports.com

Of course that is my website too....

Take care and I look forward to seeing you around. I am sure I will be doing some of the local rallies, runs and rides in the State.

Hi Dave,

Wow...this WORLDWIDE INTERNET is certainly a small world.

I am still shooting lots of sports...but can't wait for FOOTBALL to start. I hope to shoot a few more Razorback games this year including a couple up in Fayetteville.

But I shoot more High School ball than anything...

The only BAD thing about FOOTBALL season is that good (but not all) bike riding weather will be gone.

Thanks for noticing.

WallyI sure thought the name Wally/Searcy sports would be one of the same but wasn't positive. I dont know how HA came out this year but we have a completely new conference with lots of travel. I usually get to ride to most of the games and the kids and parents alike love the Zap lights on my bike as I usually switch them on to the flashing Greens for game nights but then sometimes I just let them go through all four colors. Wont be long now and i'm ready for it. I'll talk to ya later, Dave

Wally,
You developed some reputation there at Blytheville and I'm sure I only heard "some" of the stories but I feel I know you. Mike said you were a mess but hey who isn't...lol I think the hospital used to be a fun place to work..now its just work....oh well pays for the VTX...

I wished John was still at Blytheville but he is happy at St. Judes..more money, some respect, no sticking....hummmm wonder if they need any help...?? I like my job other than scheduling. I had to fool with the ABG analyzer all morning but I really like doing that sort of stuff. the paperwork part sucks the worst. especially now as there are tons of proceedures taht need revision

I've been to little Sturgis KY three times. We have Jchao coming the 13 - 16 so I may not get to go this year unless I leave Friday evening after work. Mike canceled my vacation I had scheduled for the event..! I actually borrowed Dr. Husted's camera last year and took 64MB of pictures but when I tried to DL then it erased all the picts. the card will not work to this day for some reason?????

I haven't heard of sparks america. tell me about it..it might be something I want to check out. I'll shoot you an e-mail so we might keep in touch. see ya

Miles...hmmm, a reputation...well lets just say I tried to keep it interesting through the escapades of my love life...

Don't like Mike fool you either...he went through a "period" of life when he was a little CRAZY too. But Mike PUT UP WITH MY CRAP and for that he should be commended.

Yes, I remember Blytheville fondly with the exception of the last few months.

I was at Little Sturgis last year and took about 1800 pics over 2 days. This year we are planning on going...but not 100% sure yet.

Sparks America (http://www.sparksamerica.com)

I have never been to Sparks either...but I hear it is smaller than Little Sturgis, but a little more wild. Obviously being a photograher now too..I am going to view this as an "assignment".

I will await your email.

I've seen a few picts of the lab as it used to be. there are still quite a few picts of you and John. I especially like the ones of you and John as the Blues Brothers.... Mike was dressed as a woman for some reason. helen had some sort of whiskey bottle.

I heard something about the roof????? ...

Of course Mike denies anything other than professionalism but I will rib him a little...won't let him know who tipped me off though hahaha

I'll check out the link. might be something interesting.

Wow...hadn't thought about that INCIDENT for a long time...without details...the fact of the matter is that a FOOLISH (but helluva lot of fun) incident on the roof with the bosses daughter resulted in me leaving the hospital for a couple of years (voluntarily)...but I must say in all fairness, the "Boss" was VERY fair and allowed me to be rehired. She is a great lady.
