Hello all....
The wife & I are planning a trip from Kankakee Il(just south of Chicago) to the land between the lakes(hopefully).Just wondering if anyone has suggestions on places to see,eat,sleep,visit,ride,etc.... We are really looking forward to this trip...it's the first one this far for either of us, and we're just hoping for good weather, good riding....and an over-all good time.

Thanks for any input,
an IL. X'er

When are you coming down? The 2 favorite places to eat are Patti's at Grand Rivers and Katawa harbor (rudy burger). The loop at LBL is very good riding, no comercial traffic...just watch out for deer and skunks. A good way get there is get off I 57 at Marion IL and go to Cave In Rock, take the fairie to Marion KY, then 641 to Grand Rivers. There are several motel in the area. PM me as I live in Paducah, maybe we can get togather.

we are laving home on sunday the 16th, spending the night & heading towards home on the 17th. I know...... not much time to see the sights or relax,but... the wife is FINALLY starting to want to ride. So 3 weeks ago we went on a 2 1/2 hour round trip. she was good with that, so she planned a 4 hour round trip last weekend...still good with that. So she figured if she can make 4 hours in a day why not add a couple more hours and keep going the same direction instead of turning around. We'll see how it goes. We're kind of testing the water (and our bottoms) to see if we can make a trip to visit some old friend in West Virginia. That's the goal. Wish me luck!!

try the 2 inch porkchops at patti's settlement.......wow!! and get the mozzerella cheese sticks, you wont believe them!!! also might want to try the iron kettle, its across the street from patti's, just down the way a bit, its like eating in grandma's kitchen, not fancy but very good.
