Sounds like a great time. In the past, Suzi Greenway held a spring and fall get together outside of Stockbridge. There were all types of vintage motorcycles there. Hundreds, if not thousands of people showed up. It was amazing! It appears that she is hosting this event as well. Monkeyman, what does your bike look like? Maybe I'll see you there.

Wow, what a great show! So many awesome vintage motorcycles. It really brought back a flood of memories from years gone by. I guess you never realize how much motorcycling has been a part of your life until you see all the different bikes that you remember seeing while you were growing up. All the 1960's, '70's and '80's Hondas really took me back to a more simple time. I hadn't seen a 350 Four in years. There was a 1909 Harley-Davidson there which was up and running. Its almost 100 hundred years old. The old British bikes (Nortons, Triumphs, BSAs, Royal Enfields) were really something special too. There were a few Indians and the 1929 three-wheeled Morgan Aero really stood out in the crowd. The two wheel drive Ural with sidecar was a nice addition as well. Its really something to be able to share an experience like this with so many like minded people. The weather warmed up (from 36 degrees this morning) and it turned out to be a great day for riding. I sure hope they'll be able to do this again, it was really a great event!

monkeyman,
Were you at Stockbridge yesterday? I looked for your bike. I saw a similar one across the street from the hardware store (far southeast corner of the roped off parking area). Was that your bike? You are becoming quite an enigma! I've been to no fewer than seven get togethers this summer, and have yet to meet you. I've ridden to:
Jackson - Jacksonwheelsofthunder (6/9/07);
Chelsea - Chelsea Summer Fest (7/29/07);
Orange County Choppers - Adrian (8/17/07);
Aubree's Bike Night (Tuesday)- Ypsilanti;
Hudson Leather - Labor Day Weekend - Pioneer, OH;
A&W Bike Night (Wednesday)- Dexter;
All Clubs Day 9/16/07 - Stockbridge;
I'm starting to think you must ride with Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, Sasquatch, etc... lol. Keep posting events, I'm bound to run into you sooner or later.

We had 9-10 Michigan "X" Riders show up for this show.
I posted it in the "Events" section of www.mixriders.com (http://www.mixriders.com)
Our October Meeting will be in Frankenmuth on 10/07/07 High Noon location TBD, check the front page of our site.
It'd be nice to see some new faces instead of the same tired old mugs... J/K. :P

Sniper666,
Thanks for posting the Stockbridge info on the mixriders website. I trust that you were able to get some good photos yesterday. I was able to catch up with Deadeye, Extreme, Tracker, Dale and saw a bike with the license plate "GAZUU". Was that Gazoo's bike? I would like to check out Frankenmuth in October, but that remains to be seen at this point. Take care.

Sorry we didn't run into each other. My bike was parked on the South side of the square- across form Police/gas station. Actually I was only there for about 45min. as it was such a great day, I just wanted to ride- so headed down into Irish hills area. The reason we have not met is this is my basic M.O.--- I just gots to ride. Iam a bit of a loner, particularily when it comes to riding - just hooked on the freedom of just going w/it as the mood dictates from moment to moment-- speed up, slow down, turn, stop etc. - Don't mean to be anti-social. Anyway, the vintage bikes were impressive, and the lay out of the whole event was well thought out. Iam thinking it will be an annual event. The only thing I found a little dissappointing is that I saw very few locals/non bikers taking in the sights. On the up side, there were lots of Bikers there, who clearly liked it. Iam kicking myself for not realizing that the Rocket 111, was a dealers demo-rider.--Could have taken a test ride for the asking. Anyway, glad you had a great time there! I'll continue to post any events that I become aware of--- I know, that days riding are ehanced by having some destination in mind, and taking some circuitous route- And what better, than have a bunch of nice bikes to look at, when you arrive--not to mention, like minded people.
I'll be around for another month or so-- Then head to wintering grounds in Ark. Great riding there--Mountain twisties, great views, perfect rodes, cool temps., No police, No commerical traffic, very few cagers, on the Nat'l Scenic Hwys. I can't wait for winter! Its like Deals Gap w/out the traffic, and lots of sweepers mixed in w/ the tighter twisties, so you can enjoy some serious acceleration.

monkeyman,
I parked just east of the police station, by the stop sign. My buddy and I got there around 11:20 and stayed about three hours. I used to live in the Irish Hills. Its a beautiful area. I can relate to your M.O., that's how I am. That may explain why I've taken six solo cross-country tours in the last five years! I only need nine more states to have ridden in all of the lower 48, and those are in the northeast. So far all of my trips have been on my 1985 V65 Magna. Man, what a great bike. I've ridden in about 25 National Parks (some more than once) and ridden the Shenandoah Skyline Drive, and the Blue Ridge and Natchez Trace Parkways. Last year I rode to the Gulf of Mexico and both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Sunday I saw a number of locals taking in the sights, but I would agree that they were outnumbered by the riding community. I didn't realize that the Rocket III was a demo bike either. Our Magnariders group had our 2005 rally in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. I know what you mean about the great riding down there. That year I won the "Best 1st Generation Magna" award. In 2003 (Cody, WY) and 2004 (Lake Tahoe, CA/NV) I won "Best Vintage Magna". For 2004 & 2005 I also won "Longest Distance Male", I would have won it in 2003, but a buddy of mine from Canada rode out there with me and he won it. That's my M.O. 8) I know what you're talking about :D
