Hi Guys,

For our get together on July 10th at noon at the Trappe Tavern in Trappe, PA here are some directions:

From Philly/West Chester, etc:
- Travel to King of Prussia
- Take Rt 422 West towards Pottstown
- Take the Collegeville Exit
- At the end of the Exit Ramp turn RIGHT on Rt 29 North
- Stay on Rt 29 North until you come to a "T" intersection at a traffic light. There is a gas station on the right corner and a McDonald's on the left corner.
- Turn LEFT at that "T" onto Main Street
- Watch for the Dairy Queen on the right, the Trappe Tavern is on the LEFT shortly after the Dairy Queen
From Allentown Area:
- Take Rt 476 South
- Take the Lansdale, Rt 63 Exit (Exit 31 I think)
- After paying the toll go to the first light and turn right on Sumneytown Pike/Rt-63
- At the first light turn LEFT on Old Forty Foot Rd
- At the first light turn RIGHT on Skippack Pike/Rt-73
- Travel through the town of Skippack and turn LEFT on Bridge Rd/Rt-113
- Go about 6.5 miles and you'll intersect Main St in Trappe. There is a light at that intersection and you have to stop quite far back from the light. There is a stone building on your right corner and kitty corner across from you is a funeral home.
- Turn right on Main St
- Watch for the Dairy Queen on the right, the Trappe Tavern is on the LEFT shortly after the Dairy Queen
If you have any questions or need directions from another direction send me a PM.

Cheers,
Dave

That is a great idea. The 10th of July may not work for me if I do the two day ride on the 8th and 9th. Wife will shoot me. I can try though.

Hey! You're not stepping on my toes. It was Steve's suggestion. I'm not the ringleader of this merry bunch of X'ers! I simply picked a date and a location last time, and it worked out well. If anyone has a suggestion, let's hear it. I'm happy to follow the group anywhere within reason.

I think I've been to the Trappe Tavern in years past. Sounds like a plan! Count me in. Ragman, I can just tell my wife that's I'm staying an extra day with YOU.

Hey Gus - how did you get ahold of everyone? Did you happen to collect a list of riders? I don't think that many guys check the PA X side of the site yet.

I'll back you up buddy...We could be a day late because of mechanical difficulties. Nah..that won't work. Our wives know we ride VTXs.

I believe I can make it...certainly would like to. I'm thinking about bringing my wife two up to this one. Anyone else considering bringing their significant other?

Ride Safe!

LOL...HELL NO!

My wife likes to ride. But, she would probably never go on a long trip like this. It's also nice to enjoy something on my own, sometimes.

I don't have a problem with anyone who wants to come.

Hey where is that place at? The NE Ohio chapter may me riding up to Kinzua Dam area (Warren P.A.) on July 10th and 11, Is where you are going anywhere close?

Trappe sounds fine to me. Just make sure that someone posts the street address here so "foreigners" to DelCo like me can find it. Directions and/or landmarks wouldn't hurt (at least the street it's on and closest cross street).

GreenVTX, Pat will probably ride 2-Up with me.

Ragman, if your wife kills you, who gets the "X"? Do you think she'll scream loud enuf that I can hear her from here?

Mechanical breakdown? On a Honda? I have my t-shirt on that has the H-D symbol on the back, with the following words in Orange & Black:
"If they had more Engineers than Lawyers, they'd have a better motorcycle". Yeah, I'm an engineer....my apologies to any "esquires" who may read this.

The Prof - Trappe is in Montgomery Co., just outside of Philadelphia. Warren is in Warren Co., in northwestern PA. You will be nowhere near us, but you are certainly welcome if you want to make the trip!

Greenvtx - Maybe I got my posts crossed. However, I work both weekends AND weekdays (dayshift and nightshift, too). I also get alot of vacation days. In any case, your 2-up would be welcome, as far as I'm concerned. We didn't scare Steve's wife Pat away!

vtxhdcii - No, I didn't get a list of who was there on Saturday. I'm sure that I could make a list, but it might make my head hurt. They know who they are! I just posted the date and place on this board, and they came. I followed up with some PM's. It looks like most of us have seen this post, and have already responded. I would like to see a few more bikes next time, of course. There were a few people who responded, but, couldn't make the last gathering (Red X, MedicPWC, JPfeiffer, Tom).

Ragman - Thanks for backing me up, buddy! My wife also knows how reliable the VTX is. She won't mind if I go to both, as long as it doesn't interfere with any previous plans.

Hey now...think I can make this one!!! I'm heading to NJ on Sun. the 11th for a Christening. I'm not really sure where it is though. I would be coming from old exit 20 off the PA tpk. Can you give me a ruff estimate where it is, what exit...

Dave,

Thanks for the directions. I remember going there now. We have a few friends who live in the Collegeville area. I hope to see you on the 10th! We will have to talk this up again, to see if we can get a few more X'ers to come. Come on guys! We had alot of fun last time!

I hope you have a good time in CO. I sure hope that you didn't get wet, or flooded out.

Thanks for the directions. That gave me a chance to look up the location. I HATE major roads, so I'm gonna take some back roads up toward 113 and hit Trappe that way.
Also, the Trappe Tavern has a web site with a 10% coupon for food orders. Print one at www.trappetavern.com (http://www.trappetavern.com).

The address is 416 Main St, Trappe, PA. Microsoft Street & Trips lists it as Collegeville, at 416 WEST Main St. You have to enter the zip of 19426.

Looking forward to seeing you all up there.

I guess that's a case of "be all you can be...READ!" I have a 10am basketball game with the 11/12 year olds and plan to head out after that. I'm in Bucks, so it's about 45minutes from me. Do you just meet in the parking lot? I'm a rookie at this sort of thing.

I was just kidding with you!

Yes, last time we met at noon, BS'd in the lot for more than an hour, then went in to eat for another couple of hours. We left for a short ride at about 3:30. So, you should be good! See you there.

MADDDAD,

A wedding? Where are your priorities, man? OK, if you must...go to the wedding in the morning, come out to Trappe for lunch, then head back for the wedding reception! Easy, right?

No need to thank me,

MADDAD64 & Crew,

I have to eat some humble crow, after teasing MADDDAD. I just got called to work overtime on Saturday the 10th. I love seeing you guys, but not enough to turn down time and a half pay. I will make it the next time! Let's keep this thing going.

WHAT! You'd turn down an afternoon with US for a few $US???? Gee, I didn't know that you could be "bought" (sorry, I know, bad choice of words, you know I don't mean anything nasty by them).

Hope you buy something nice for the wife and the bike with the OT pay.

Hey Steve!

Ragman and I just returned from a great trip to the Solomons in Maryland. Weather, roads, and scenery were great! Too bad you had to miss it.

Yeah, sorry about Saturday. I need money to pay for these toys and outings. Plus, I'm in my last year before retirement. My pension is based on everything I gross. Can't mess with that.

Glad to hear that you and Ragman had a good 2 days. We'll miss you tomorrow.
Hey Ragman, if you're going on Saturday, give me a call on the phone. I plan on leaving about 10AM. I'll get on Route 113 and take it up to Trappe. I haven't decided which way I'm taking to Rt 113 yet....Rt 10 to the 30 bypass is fastest, but those Downingtown drivers on the bypass are nuts. Might take 372. Hope you can make it.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of you up there tomorrow.....

Hey, Guys,

Sorry, but I can't make this one today. I thought there was a chance I could squeeze it in at the last minute, but there are just too many miles to cover in a few short minutes before another important meeting at 2PM in the city. These second Saturdays are tight for me except for next month, when I'm free for all of August! Maybe we can meet then, and I can make both the lunch and the ride. :D Till then...

Hi Guys. Well, we had a WONDERFUL afternoon in Trappe today. There were 8 of us who rode in on 6 VTX's. I will try to post the pics and then put the link here. We had a great lunch at the Trappe Tavern. To those who made it, thanks for a great afternoon of companionship. To those who didn't (for various lame excuses), you missed a great afternoon!

The August ride will be the 2nd Saturday (August 14). GREENVTX will post where and directions. It will be in Bucks County this time (June was Delaware Co, July Montgomery Co, August will be Bucks Co).

   Huh! - When did I get nominated for this? I thought we were going to meet at that custom bike place (old Indian Dealership on 611) that Charlie was talking about. I don't really know Bucks County all that well for a suitable lunch spot. Open for suggestions...Anyone...? I'll be happy to post directions once we decide on a place though.

OOPS! Senior Moment!
Sorry, greenvtx!! and Thanks for setting me straight!
Yes, Charlie did mention the old Indian shop on Rt 611. If my "old" memory serves me correctly, there is a diner right about across the street from the bike shop.

I posted the photos I have from June's get together and todays.
Try this URL:
http://home.comcast.net/~w8sc/VTX_Group.htm

Let me know if it doesn't work (seems to work for me....maybe Charlie can fix it if it doesn't!!).

Thanks again for the correction.....DUH!
Really enjoyed the afternoon, and thanks, Dave, for the alternate route to Route 23.....the ride back was SUPER!

It was great meeting you guys on Saturday...along with some of the most attractive VTXs in Pa...if not the world!

Let me know if you want me to post a little tour of Bucks County...there are at least 3 decent places to eat right down the road from Bucks County Custom Cycles. I, however, will NOT be able to join you on the 8/14...that's day one of vacation down the shore. And in this equation, absence=death!
