I know how you can....for free!!!

Trade me your final drive...for my 1800 final drive.

Why?? the 1300 final drive is better for highway cruising...and the 1800 final drive will get you off the line quicker...but will raise your RPMs a little on the highway...

The 1300 runs a 2.8 ratio and the 1800 runs a 3.1 ratio

The 1300 final on an 1800 lowers rpms and increases top end speed. The loss is in torque. So they are slower off the line, but can achieve a higher speed.

Opposite effect with an 1800 final on a 1300. More torque off the line, but higher rpms at all speeds.

Sure you can come when I find out when they want to do it.

The final drives are the same with the exception of the gearing. They can be swapped between bikes. You can also buy new gears and install them in your own FD but I don't have the proper tools for doing that (and I've never done one)

What these guys are doing is swapping a 1300 FD into a 1800 bike and a 1800 FD into a 1300 bike.

We're not thaking the FD apart but swapping the units. Basicly take the tire off, left shock and 4 bolts holding on the FD. (now if it were only that easy.) :D

Gotta slight conflict in schedule. I have mandatory firearm quals this Sat morning from 8am til approx 12 noon. Mark would it be too late to meet early afternoon maybe 1-1:30? Not sure how long it takes to swap out final drives. I know you have evening plans as do I as well. Sorry for the last minute time crunch. I hope we can still do it this Saturday. Let me know. ...Well boys, the swap was a success on my end!!! Definately an increase in torque/acceleration pretty much in all gears. Thanks Eric, for trading with me. I hope you like that 1300 final drive as well. Let me know.
