Coffee Tonight (Wednesday 6 PM) Coos Bay
Nothing special. Just get together for coffee, see what is going on in the biker community, and maybe plan a ride or two.
My club in Eugene has sponsored a get together for many years, and this is patterned after their success. The secret to their success is someone is there rain or shine, on Thursday at 6:30 or so, 52 weeks a year. Where is there? Starbucks on Coburg Road at Oakway Mall.
Now where is here? Here is “Bay Sub” on 4th street across from the Old City Hall and the downtown Fire Station. The time is 6 PM, and the City is Coos Bay. Someone will be there every Wednesday at 6 PM rain or shine.
See you there …
chit! id have to leave at noon to make it  good luck with the coffee!

If you are ever passing through stop in.
I have left earlier for coffee runs. I do Hamburger runs sometimes that take a few days. Had a couple of VTX riders and some good conversation. Gary’s VTX 1300 is tricked out nicely.

Looks like decent weather for Wednesday. Maybe a little chilly (Mid 50’s or less). Coffee at 6 PM Wednesday, Bay City Sub in Coos Bay on 4th street.
If you can’t make it try; Clean & Sober MC Coffee get together (and sometimes ride) on Thursday’s at 6 PM or so in Eugene at Starbucks Oakway Mall on Coburg Road.

Steve, just talked this weekend with some of the clean and sober folks. Very nice group representing at wallyworld selling pastries and stuff. I mentioned I have read on here about the coffee get together from you....they think highly of you. Weird! hahaha
If I can get my brain to remember what day I'm in, planning on heading down this week and chat.

Two showed and it was clear and cold. Coffee shop closed early for the holidays. We said hello, goodby and went home and snuggled. See ya'all next Wednesday.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Share the season with those who have nothing.

Looks like a cold winters day for Coos Bay. I’ll be there this evening unless my Senility kicks in between now and then. I am riding, but I may have two pairs of pants on and look like a leather covered Eskimo.

Another Wednesday, another Coffee Social at 6pm. Looks like maybe a lull in the rain. Storms are stacked about 24 hours apart. So far it is a VTX only event, but all riders are welcome. No agenda. Just get together for coffee.

Are you familiar with Master Chief Kenneth Weir

Why yes I do know Ken Weir. I think Arnold Lacompt is the CO at Charleston now. I was there with him in the 80s.
Things have sure changed there in the past 25 years, alot of good memories, I used to live at Cape Arago lighthouse. I will never forget "3 flashes every 20 seconds, two blasts every 30".
Charleston had the old swing bridge, Oly was the beer of choice for us broke Coasties, no casino, the Balboa Bay Club in Empire was a rocking good time, students at Marshfield High wanted to rename the school Slim Whitman High, Captains Choice had the best fish and chips, Seven Devils Road was a great road to go fast on, The movie theatre downtown had dollar night on Tuesdays, bought a new 79 naked GW at the Honda dealer, road 3 wheelers on the dunes north of the bridge, drank lots of beer at Gold and Silver falls, heard some people were killed there a few years ago in a rock slide.
Total population for Charleston-Coos Bay-Empire-Marshfield was about 30,000, what is it nowdays?

Population is about the same and includes North Bend. The Balboa Bay Club is gone, and Red's burned down. Swing Bridge was replaced with a draw bridge. Navy base is gone also. So is a lot of the fleet.
Kenny just retired and is living in Florida with his wife. His last duty station was signing paychecks and paying the bills at the Pentagon. I like to think my moving him (his family) to the Coos Bay area is what gave him the incentive to become a Coastie. He had a good career.
The Master Chief’s dad and I are still best friends after 45 years. We all moved to the Charleston area at the same time back at the end of the sixties. In fact I am here now because I married a girl in October 2007 whom I dated in ’66 and ’67 from the Devils.

The picture is of his sister's husband and myself at "Rhody" in May 2007, the same day I found Debbie my wife after 40 years of not seeing her.

Great coffee social last week. We went for a ride afterwards. I expect Rain, or Snow, or Hail, or Sunshine, or Wind, or all of the aforementioned. I will be driving tonight, but we will meet at Bay Sub around 6 pm.

Gotta work this weekend, and 3 or 4 days next week, so I can take off on a road trip, not sure where to yet. I have about 10 to 12 days. Maybe NV., Utah, AZ., Or even farther east from there. It looks like the middle of Sept. at least or late Sept. Wife and I just get up in the AM and look at the map and head a direction, and about 5pm start looking for a place to camp, every 2 or 3 days, get a Motel so we can take a shower, Or if the water is warm enough, just strip and jump in, as long as there are no famly camped next to us. :D Dont want them to get to excited. :D

Well I thought I was going to be over there alot in the next 2 weeks, but all of a sudden, all hell just broke, and I havent had time to fart.
I will call you when I finish this job up in Springfield. We are putting down VCT flooring, and last weekend we put down about 6,000 sq ft. of it. Im going back up on Mon. and going to be there for at least 4 days.
I needed the work anyway, it was starting to get a little to slow for my likeing. Gotta pay for med. bills. I just had a upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and a colonoscopy, and my Ins. aint going to pay.
How Ironic, April 15 was Tax day, I get money back and I still got it in the a$$. No dinner and flowers befor hand. :dontknow:
