Hi all,
Are the Australian 1800's much the same as the U.S models? I haven't had a real good look at my VTX vet as it's still pretty new.
What are the advantages of doing these mods? I've had a look at a few threads regarding this and the main reason that i can see is to reduce decel popping if you have after market pipes fitted. I have Cobra pipes and a Cobra FI 2000 fitted and haven't noticed any decel popping as yet.
Have many of you blokes done these mods? Do you think it's worth doing?
Cheers,
Brian

:D G'day mate,
Yeah the Auzzie 1800's are the same as the U.S models, The Desmog and pair valve mod is to reduce decel popping if you have after market pipes fitted like you have read about.
But it also cleans up the extra clutter that all that unnesasary suff causes.
I haven't done this mod yet but I intend to do it one day.
I have Vance & Hinse Big Shots on mine and there is a little decel popping but for now I ride acordingly to minamise it. 8)

Thanks for the info mate. I've got some time off next week so i might pull the tank off and have a bit of a look see.
Is there any power advantages from doing these mods or is it more likely air box mods that would need to be done here?
Cheers,
Brian
PS. I lived just outside of Armidale at Hillgrove for a while many moons ago. Beautifull part of the world you're in there mate. Cheers

The extra power naturaly comes from letting the gasses out faster like you have done with aftermarket pipes, But as well from getting more air in by modifying the filter. Additionaly it pays to have it all brought together on the Dyno meter tuned to it's optumin with a fule moduel with whatever combination you go with by some one who knows what their doing.
:D Yeah, The New England Table Lands country is very beautifull. :D
