Hello Fellow X'rs,

A group of us will be heading up to the Kinzua area Saturday morning and will be staying in Warren the night of the 10th. We'll be touring around all day Saturday (probably the dam area) and nothing really set for Sunday yet. Any ideas on a good route for Sunday?

Also anyone who may want to hook up and ride with us are very welcome to do so. Probably 5 or 6 of us will be in by 12 - 1 on Saturday and 2 or 3 more will arrive by 4 as well.

Don,

I dont know where in OH you are, but if you go through Franklin and Oil City you can take 62 all the way to Warren. Nice gently winding road that follows the Allegheny River and goes through only a couple of towns. (And no red lights that I can remember. Maybe 1 stop sign.)

Towns to look for on a map would be Tionesta and Tidioute.

Not really familiar with the Dam area. But up there, its ALL Gods country.

Have fun and be safe.

Hey Don, you might want to entertain the idea of heading east from the dam on 59 till you link up with US 6. Take that east to Wellsboro. That's where you'll find the grand canyon of Pa. It's about a three hour ride to Wellsboro and you can take the chefs tour of the canyon in about an hour. The visitors center is on one side of the canyon, and there are observation points on the other side. The only problem is you have to go all the way around the canyon to get to them. I'd start out at the center and then decide if you want to go to the far side. Great places to eat in Wellsboro. Then head back west a short way to 144. Head south thru several state forests to 120. Go west on 120 to Ridgway. Cut thru there on 3002 a short way till you hit 948. Take that up thru the Allegheny National Forest to 666 and then that back up to US 6. You'll be just east of Warren and you can head back home. It's a great ride. Or you can continue from Ridgway on 3002 to 66 and down to Clarion and then hit I80. If you leave early Sunday you can use up the whole day getting back to Aurora. Take a state map and make up your own route once you get going. You might consider staying the night in or around Wellsboro instead of Warren. And thanks for the advanced warning that you Buckeyes are coming. I'll let the State Police know your on your way here so they won't turn you back at the border. Enjoy the ride.

Hey thanks PITVTX!

I'm saving your info and will probably run that route from Warren maybe on Saturday afternoon and save the Dam tour (59 , 321,) and all that for Sunday. In all the years of going up there I've never seen the area your speaking about and now I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again for the info.
