Do we have anyone from the Erie Area? I am planing to spend 2 days touring the Presque Isle/Erie area in June. I'm looking for recommendations on where to stay and any "must see/do" places.
Thanks,
MH

MH,
I am up here in Erie. What are you interested in doing?
Bars? Sight seeing? Area rides? Boat Rentals?

Do you have someplace you would like to stay? Any preference? (glamorous or cheap)

Guide me and I will set you up with ideas! Maybe we could even meet up for a ride!

Here is our city's webpage: http://www.visiteriepa.com

Presque Isle State Park is beautiful (especially during the summer)

There is also the new Tom Ridge Environmental Center at the entrance to Presque Isle.

Joe Roots Bar and Grill (at the top of the hill from Presque Isle) is a very nice place to eat and prices aren't bad.

The Waterfall restaurant a short ride east of there on PA Route 5 is another nice place to eat. I am close friends with the owners & LOVE their prime rib dinners.

Further East of The Waterfall, is Freeport Restaurant another GREAT place to eat! (11104 E. Lake Road North East, PA 16428) Try the deep-fried pickles and the Buoys (hard-boiled egg, wrapped in sausage, then deep-fried). They sound weird, but taste GREAT!

Our newest attraction is the Presque Isle Downs & Casino.

There have live horse racing & wagering.
They also have slot machines and several restaurants on-site.

Waldameer Park isn't REAL big, but it is a nice amusement park.

We have some pretty good shopping at the Millcreek Mall, if you don't mind the traffic around that area.

There are also MANY wineries in the area!
Arrowhead Wine Cellars, Heritage Wine Cellars, Mazza Vineyards, Penn Shore Vineyards, and Presque Isle Wine Cellars are the largest of them.
