Devils Hopyard June 26

So far it looks like business is going to be at the Devils Hopyard. Just making sure that we have the time set for 2pm. I am coming from Thomaston, and it looks like the best route is 84 to 691 and take connector through Middletown to route 9 and get off exit 6 to 148 east to 82 east. Anybody have a better route? :wink:

Anyone interested in meeting at Mickey Finns Honda on the Berlin turnpike for the ride over to the Hopyard. I know there are a few people coming from this area. We could hop right on Rt. 9 and shoot down.

:D Make that exit 7 unless you plan on taking the ferry over the river. Exit 7 is a 2 mile connector, run to the end. Go left for a quarter mile to the light and go right on 82. Follow 82 over the East Haddam Bridge and straight through town and out. One mile out of town is a stop sign, go right and then a quick left on Mount Parnassis Road. Shagbark Farm supplies and lumber will be immediately on your left. Follow the mountain road about 5 miles or so and you will see Devils Hopyard Road on you right with a little sign. Chapman Falls is the first left (about a mile up) and parking is immediately at the bridge on the left. I will get there a bit early if showers hold off. Not sure of cell coverage but mine is 860-227-7061 incase you get lost in wild cat country.

I have a better route. That's of course if you don't want to hit any highway from 691.

Take 691 to route 66 towards middletown. That takes you directly to Middletown center. Once you hit Middletown center, take a right at light. Follow that road right out of middletown center. This turns into the Main Street extension which then into turns into Saybrook road, which then turns into 154. 154 is a very nice ride.

154 takes you directly to the point in East Haddan where you must cross the CT river.

Coming up from Southwestern CT. No real direct route for me. Figure it will take me 90 minutes? Anyway..... See you there!

If you don't know the area or (and) you are coming in on route 6 thru Willimantic, we can meet somewhere and ride together to the Hopeyard. Maybe the same Gas Station on Route 6 Willimantic at 12:30 PM.. What you Think.
