Hi, yu'all... We hear about and see the winter blast that is hitting the NW. The local news here in Az. is always lighting up the TV stations with flash floud warnings and rain fall amounts. The Phoenix area did get 2-3 inches of rain on Sunday and normal dry washes were running pretty deep with muddy water. Well, we had a pretty tuff day here in Welton too. Izzy and I had a tee time on Monday at 9am, it was only 50 degrees and it wasn't till about noon that we were able to take off the sweaters. Then about the last 4-5 holes the wind picked up and it was 10-12 mph gusts! Don't feel to bad for us but it only got up to 64.... We get to golf again today and it is sunny and looking pretty nice out! That is the problems we snowbirders run into down here!!! Welton is 30 miles East of Yuma. Spring has sprung in Az.... Hope it does break for yu'al soon??? I do remember some, 55 cold and wet winters!!! Best wishes to all and keep safe. Ed&Leslie 8)

Some days, it's hard to like you Ed.

Looking out the window, it's 35 degrees, and there's snow on the ground. The street in front of my house is compact snow & ice, and I need the jeep to be in 4 wheel drive to get to the main streets.

Spring is still to far off on the horizon to see from this far north. We're still deep in the throws of winter.

Hey, Ed. My buddy Mike and I played golf on Friday during one of the few sunny days around here. Temps were in the 30's and all the greens were closed because they were frozen (temporary greens only), but we had a great time. Had fun bouncing a few balls off the frozen water hazards (some on purpose, some not). It felt like we flipped winter the bird for a day. We practially had the whole course to ourselves.

Yesterday was snow. A few days ago we had to fix a broken water pipe in the neighbor's yard that had shattered because it froze. Caused us to lose water pressure for a day.

Glad to hear you are having fun, even though your quips about that "tough" life you lead down there can be a bit difficult to swallow while we are dealing with the gloom. But no matter how much we envy your sunny stories, we always like to hear from ya!

Say hello to your lovely wife, and take care.

Brian

Oh man I would love to have 50 degree weather right now!! We sold our car so we have been having fun with the one. Clint had to ride to work tonight. Going to be a cold wet ride for him tomorrow. I think tomorrow is my dad to ride to work. Another wet cold day.

Sorry Rick, I came home $3.00 richer. I did have a unfair advantage, Ed hasn't played for a while. Can't complain, sunny T-shirt weather, golfing with your friends, getting a little sun on the legs and getting paid for it, what a life. WISH YOU ALL WERE HERE. See yall this spring, Bob

Spring's a comin' folks. Here are the monthly numbers from a year ago. Even February of last year seems a bit balmy compared to what we've seen so far this month! The buds are on the trees. They'll bloom and will be followed in short order by the migration of the snowbirds. 8)

March '07
Max. Avg. Min.

 Hey Tref, when the record highs start rolling around, I'll start migrating home!!!! 8) Lot's of things going on in the Phoenix area this weekend (Super Bowl, PGA Golf, The FBR Tourney) and the temps are below ave. here to! Yuma is alittle warmer so we will be here for a couple more weeks... Izzy and I have a ride planned possibly for Sat., should be 67 degrees, then cooling off to 59 on Super Bowl Sunday??? Good luck on that spring thing up there!!!! See you soon! Ed1947 8)

There are several reasons why it will be good to see you again Ed. But even if I didn't know you, the fact that you will be headed this way means you'll be accompanied by warmer weather. Now hurry and up and git here, will ya? :)

After two weeks of liquid sunshine and 35-50 MPH gusts (not to mention the 33 degree temps), I'm ready to put my bike on a trailer and ship it down south for a 3-day weekend of fun in the sun. It would be cool if someone knew how to coordinate such a thing. Could fly to Vegas or Phoenix or some place like that, jump on the bikes and ride for 2-3 days, jump on the plane and be back just in time for the next storm. OK - so maybe we'd get a little tan while down there, but I could live with that.

Damn I'm getting tired of all this rain.

Good morning Ed from snow white eastern Oregon. I just got in from shoveling the sidewalk. Easy morning, actually, only about 2 inches of snow to toss up on the 3' on both sides of the walk.

My, but it's pretty-- when you finish.

Haven't seen grass or concrete in at least 5 weeks... We're hoping we remember how to ride the Xes.

Forecasters here don't even talk about Spring, lest we get our hopes up.

But you & Leslie enjoy, hear?

OK, I won't say a word about Spring Jim. But in most cases it will come along.

Not back in this year though (http://www.vtonly.com/hstyjul7.htm)

Yeah. Thank goodness, though, black VTXes look really good in snow, eh?

Well, other than the known fact that black looks good with everything, (and it's the fast color too), I'm much to chicken to try riding in the snow :)
