Ok, I have a zumo 550, a treo and I don't know anything about bluetooth. I want to listen to the MP3, the gps instruction and set up the bluetooth phone...
Give me some suggestions for a bluetooth stereo headset. I use a full face helmet and I don't want to buy a new helmet.

Check out www.chatterboxusa.com (http://www.chatterboxusa.com). They have a bluetooth capable headset that also has bike to bike communications capability and intercom. Within the next few week, they are also coming out with a newer unit that provides bluetooth communications between driver and passenger, but no bike to bike capabilities. If you want both, they said you have to wait another couple of years!!

I might be mistaken but the Zumo 550 doesn't support stereo via bluetooth.

Check out the Camos BHS600 stereo bluetooth headset paired with the wiREVO stereo bluetooth adapter. The adapter plugs into the Zumo audio-out jack which gives you stereo into your headset and the adapter also has a microphone input jack which you can use to make phone calls through the zumo from your cell phone. The Camos BHS600 also has an additional channel for a full-duplex intercom system to your passenger. As you talk with the passenger the intercom system mutes the zumo, if you recieve a phone call the zumo mutes the audio and it all seems to work together very well. The whole setup is rechargable and should last for a long day of riding, unfortunately all I have done with it so far due to the crappy weather down here is install it in my living room with the zumo hooked to a twelve volt battery. Both helmets communicate back very clearly within about 20ft or so, cell phone & stereo mp3's from the zumo sound excellent with amazing volume and clarity. The passenger helmet has to have it's own wiREVO adapter as this can only be paired with one headset at a time - you can put a splitter from the zumo and hook both adapters to it so you are both listening to the same thing or your passenger can just plug it into her own music source, ipod or cell phone output to have their own audio entertainment. I got all this gear from the ScooterShop at scootershop.com and have been very pleased with them - one of my Camos units came with a defective charger and they sent me a new one immediatly with no questions asked. I should be able to give you road test report very soon, from reading other early adopters on various forums this seems to be the best setup going currently. This setup has to be paired in the correct sequence or you will not get it to work properly but it seems to be worth the effort (I hope) In short, two Camos BHS600's at $200 per, two wiREVO's at $69 per and one Radioshack adapter/reducer 3.5mm to 2.5mm for the microphone input on the Zumo and you will have a complete wireless entertainment/communication system.

Hello Truckeic, sorry it took so long to get back here! I have been using the Camos system I described above solo and it has been working very well - just several short hauls for now but I have been absolutly satisfied. I can listen to tunes and navigation instructions through the zumo and have a phone conversation also, the tunes fade out and the phone kicks in when it is supposed to. You cannot have all three of those functions available if you are in intercom mode however, you have to pair the passenger system to bluetooth channel two which is the same channel that the zumo wants to use as a headset for phone conversations. If you can do without the cell phone functionality the tunes, navigation & intercom all seem to work perfectly although I would say that the half helmet idea might introduce excessive wind noise into the microphones, my wifes open face seems to get pretty noisy at highway speeds while my modular full face seems to be just right. I put foam earplugs in and the Camos system still has plenty of volume left for the tunes, phone, etc...
Thanks for the update! I may look into this setup for me as well....

I just paired my Camos 600 to the Zumo 550 with no problems, except one...Volume!
The "+" "-" buttons on the Camos unit don't seem to work in regards to adjusting the volume, and the Zumo volume button, when pressed, displays headphones.
Am I missing something? How does one adjust the volume. At the moment the volume is way too loud. It appears as if everything is cranked all the way up.
I disconnected the Camos, went back to the Zumo, and dialed the volume to zero, paired the Camos, but the volume is still at full strength.
If you have a way of adjusting the volume, please share it.
Thanks so much,
Steve
