I just ordered a seat off ebay and when it arrived it had a tear in the leather on the bottom edge of the seat pan. The tear is not really visible so i just need something to keep it from ripping more.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Or can I go after the seller for falsely describing the seat.
If it was damaged in shipping it is nearly impossible to get anything from UPS.

You should be able to bring the issue up with the seller. A good ebayer will work with you. If not, I think there is a mediation thing on there. Never used it, so I don't know what to tell you.

As far as UPS goes, the item is automatically insured for up to $100. There too no expierience, I just know its automatically insured. Of course if it was packed *****ty, you might be out of luck. I'd check with the person who sold it to you first.

the seller said he could give me a discount or a refund.
But I baught the seat for $300 and to buy the same seat new it would be $640 so if I can get a further discount and repair it myself I would rather go that rout. Especially since the tear is not very visible. Im just afraid of it tearing much worse over time.

I would take it to someone.... maybe an upholstery shop. If its real leather there are people that can do a good job at mending it. I had a jacket fixed by a lady in Prior Lake, turned out real nice.
