I see a lot of great dialogue posted but it seems everyone is from north of Springfield. Are there any members from the southern half?

We seem to be all over. How far Southern are you?
I haven't met anyone from farther south than Mattoon but i'm new to the group and missed most of the summer last year. Hope to see you at one of the M&Gs

Welcome to the S.IL. Board Rickoshaysz 8) Where you at in S.IL :?:
There are several guys on here from S.IL. Theirs just not much posting dues to the :cus: :snow1:
There are a lot of great guys on here that love to ride and are always up for a M&G. Last year we did an overnight ride to the Garden of the Gods and cave in Rock area and had a great time. And I would bet there will be another ride down that way this year again :mcrider: I know one stop for sure will be 17th Street BBQ in Marion :chef2: Hell I would like to make a run down there just for a nice one day ride.
Hope to meet up with ya soon :mcrider:
I am south of Springfield....15 miles outside of St. Louis.

I am about 20 miles south of St Louis in a small town of Waterloo. I'm game for a ride when the snowflakes stop. I bought a new 2006 VTX 1300C last October and I got a sweet deal. I installed a seat from an 1800C that I had Mean City modify with memory foam so I don't get monkey butt after a long ride. Does anyone know if you can reposition the shifter to a higher position? I'm, having trouble getting my size 12 boot under the shifter without moving my foot into a Ballet position.[/img]

You're way down there!
Before you go any farther you need to look into a heal shifter. When i first got my bike i hated it. BUT after the second week i couldn't live without one.
I'm have a big food too, 11EEEE so my boot didn't fit under the shifter either.
Hope to meet you one one of the rides this year.

Since we are picking up Members from the southern part of the state i think (When the weather is better) we should have a M&G somewhere farther south like Effingham or Salem. Its a nice little town near I-57.
I'm dying for a nice long ride in 80 degree weather. No Jacket just a t-shirt and glasses!!!

Hello All, I just moved back to Illinois after 27 years. I am looking for somebody to ride with in Bloomington. From just looking around on here does not seem like anybody is around. I did see one or two from Leroy and a couple in Champain. I have been a member of the Va X-riders for three yrs and like to ride. I put on 18,000 miles last year and never rode the bike to work.

WOW, I was kinda looking for a little more than a single reply. Thanks Shade, I do appreciate the response. I am kinda use to a board alittle more active but maybe its still early back here with the weather not quite right yet. I will keep a looking and hope to meet some new riders here soon.

Hey don't judge so fast. The season isn't here yet and some members on the board only check every few days. My job keeps me near a computer at all times, gives me more surfing time than most.
I know we have been talking about a M&G farther down south. I think we are just waiting for better riding weather.
Keep checking back

Welcome to Rickoshaysz, lumacurve, and DevilDogger,
I am just Northeast of Decatur. I look forward to meeting each of you. We do have M&Gs and What8 has a rain party.
Other opportunities: At least 3 Xers will be going to Southern IL in July (Little Sturgis). I am often up to Peoria ... run with several guys out of TheBikerSpot.com up there so I go through Bloomington quite often. And I believe we will do a run down to St. Louis ... I think thundrhd was going to take the lead on that.
Ride Safe,
Dave

Hey don't judge so fast.
No problem-No Foul I didn't mean to come across harsh or anything. I am just anxious to get into the groove here and hope to be able to hook up with VTX's or whatever you ride. I wasn't ready for the crazy weather we've had here. I got back on Jan 7th and with the exception of last Thur and Fri hadn't even started the bike. I am used to riding even if a bit cold but for the most part we rode all year back in Virginia. From what I've heard, this winter here has been a bit out of the norm.
Thanks for the hello's from Blackbelt and Krut too. I have a son and his family living in Monticello so that should work into a meet maybe somewhere down that way as well Shade in Champaign. I was thinking with as big as Bloomington/Normal has gotten there would be more people around here and maybe there is but just havn't gotten up and around yet.
Besides this board and the Northern group, is there any other VTX board out here. I heard something about a WICO I think it was called but that would seem to be more north since in includes Wiscosin.
Looking forward to the M/G's
Greg

Dave  I haven't been on the board as much as I would like to lately, I am planning on putting together a ride for us So & Cent Il boys, should take us along the river road with a good stop in Alton at Fast Eddies for a brew or two. I'm trying to figure out a way to get us all involved with a decent route itinerary. Just let me know who wants to go & where your starting point is and I'll get on it...
