Just a quick note to introduce myself. My name's Coop. I'm a new rider, never rode a bike before last month. Over the years, I've become increasingly interested in riding and, with encouragement from my loving wife (who rode for 18 years) recently purchased a VTX1300R with a Motor Trike conversion from Stock Mild to Wild on the Westside. I did the MSF course (highly recommended for new riders) and picked up my trike in January. I'm already getting close to the first 600 mi. service and I haven't gotten my real tags yet.
I'm a Jacksonville native (Westside boy) who moved away for about 20 years and returned to be closer to parents, the beach and (I hate to admit it) North Florida in general. As far as my day job is concerned, while I was living up in Baltimore, a friend and I started a software company. After the company started taking on a life of its own and I didn't need to babysit it, I decided to return to NoFla and telecommute. I settled down here in St. Augustine, a decision I continue to pat myself on the back for almost every day.
In addition to the mundane software stuff that pays the bills, I'm into playing music (duh, the avatar) in a local blues band - JW Gilmore and The Blues Authority (http://www.jwgilmore.com). We play in clubs from Fernandina to Daytona and also at regional festivals. I'm also into photography, Jags games, cooking, target shooting and, my recent passion, riding. Anything else is probably best left to chat over a couple of beers.
My wife (also a Jax native) and I are looking forward to meeting you in the future and linking up for some fun rides. Just keep your eyes peeled for the red trike that rumbles instead of purrs.

Yippee!! Finally another geek to help confuse Rusty about such mundane topics as bluetooth and radio waves!!!!  I work for a largish software as a service company in the Jax area doing server/software architecture.
You ought to try and hook up with us this weekend, going to head out Saturday early early, 8:00am meet time for us more northern types at 210/US1 Gate station, pickup in the St Augy area probably around 8:30 or so. There's another post on the board about Saturday's ride. We're going to go down and enjoy the kick off festivities, see some vendors...lots of vendors, and take the ride on the loop if I remember correctly, should be a day of pretty major fun.
Sunday there's also a mob join of VTX riders from around the country that I myself am thinking of going down for, will be posting a thread on that this afternoon once I get my weekend schedule cleared off to see who else is in for that ride.
Next weekend there will be some rides on Friday and Saturday back down to the Bike Week festivities. The weekend after, someone will want to do something, we're always getting something going about every weekend, and new folks are always welcome to come join in.

Now Bear, you know I don't have any trouble releasing my inner dork....or anything else!! I just might have someone who understands when the dork shows up! :4is:
I'll wear the steel cup this Saturday just for you Rusty. You should know by now I'm a complex sort of guy and when you ask a question such as "What the he11 is bluetooth?" I'm gonna have a hard time being anything but complex!! Ya know I'm just yankin yer chain don't ya?
Coop, I'm with Russ on the "What's your play schedule?" But then again I also checked your site out. Ride posting incoming!!!!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, y'all. Rob (my wife) and I might be up for the Saturday for BW. 8:30 or so where at St. A? And then US1 or I-death trip - 95? Har har. I want to hit the Arlen Ness on Beach to check out the Motor Trike folks, but that's just me. After that, I don't really care. If it's a nice day, there are so many rides and White Eagle is a great place for music and brewskies away from the Daytona anti-bike police.
