OK not dirty but a question about dirt.. :D

Some friends of mine and I are considering a road trip with the dirtbikes in tow to your state. We've done all the research we can on the riding areas in the state and would like to get some first hand info from people that have been to any of these places.

St. Joes St. Park

Finger Lakes St. Park

Chadwick area of the Mark Twain Forest

We have the skinny on the day use fees and places to stay in the area. But would like to hear from people that have ridden any of these areas. I figure there has to be a few folks out in the X world that have dirt bikes too.

Cheers,
Phil

I don't have a dirt bike but I have an ATV that I've ridden in Saint Joe State park and Finger Lakes.

I highly recomend Saint Joe. It offers a little bit of everything. They have sand flats where you can really open her up on and some pretty rugged trails through the woods in the surrounding hills. They even have a camping area where you can ride directly from your campsite to the riding area. They even have an area where you can hose your bike off after riding. The scenery is pretty nice there too. I've seen quite a few deer riding throught the wooded trails.

Finger lakes is another story. Its pretty much a big mud hole more suited to big 4x4 ATVs. I went there once and won't go back.

I've never ridden in the Chadwick area but frequently ride old logging trails in the Mark Twain National forrest near Rolla. Thats my favorite place to ride. It's pretty remote and the scenery is great! Most times I don't even see another person out there.
