When checking the up coming gas price future I decided it was time to buy my first bike. I searched for 8 months or so and had basically decided on a Shadow Spirit 750 or the Kawasaki 900 Custom (since I hadn't ridden since I was a kid, I didn't want "too big" of bike)...UNTIL...I saw a new grey '06 Honda VTX1300C. WHOA! That was all it took. However the sticker price of $9699 was more than the other two bikes. I searched and looked up everything on that I could and ran across this site. I'm impressed by the willingness of all of the owners to help out us that are "mechanically challenged" (However calling me mechanically challenged is like calling the Grand Canyon a pothole...kinda an understatement).
So I decided to jump in and buy the bike. No where near the sticker price either. Walked out under $8000...tag, taxes, fees...everything. (That's less than $7500 for the bike)
No mods yet, but I'm sure that's gonna change! Gotta find a butt catcher for the kids. Any suggestions? I don't want a tall sissy bar to take away from the "street bike" look as opposed to the bagger or touring look. Haven't really found anything though that is SHORT.
I know Cassady is supposed to be a good ride. Any others around here? (Wichita area)
Glad to be a part of the VTX NATION! Great site. Great people. Great bikes.
