OK, here is the story.
I'm an Illinois VTX guy and was on my way to the Coloradical, via Devils Tower and Amarillo :? (Another story). I headed out Saturday morning from Chicagoland and for one gas stop I pulled off I-90 and into Worthington, MN and a red 1800X and Blue Goldwing are there. Like a moth to a light I pull over to them. Ask them if they are headed to Coloradical II. They had heard something about it, but, they are on their way to Ft. Collins to see family and ride the nothern parks. We hook-up and ride to Wall, SD. That little 1300C of mine can hold her own against those bruts. Loaded with camping gear and 9 days of road life and she just purrrs at 95mph. :D It must be because it the the fastest color, SILVER :D They get a hotel room. I play tourist and head to Wall Drug for dinner before heading on the Rapid City. We say our good wishes and split up. I find a diner down on Main Street. I am parked a block from the joint and who walks in, E-REX and JJ :shock:
I camp outside Rapid City. And get an early start on 6-27. I get Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park (Needles and Wildlife Road) in by 11:00am. I am in Custer, SD at an Amoco getting gas and who passes me? Yep, E-REX and Judge Johnny :shock: I could have gotten my gear and caught them, then I thought why do I want to hook-up with some guys that are obviously stalking me :shock: :D :shock: :D
Well, I hope E-REX and JJ find this note, they are first rate guys from SW Michigan. If you see them on the road tell them I said HI.

PS, 1600 miles in and the ride has been a dream. I am in Denver this morning. On my way to Taos,NM - Sante Fe,NM - Borger,TX - Denver - Chicagoland on 7-5-04.
