My 6 degree trees will be here tomorrow and I plan on doing the install fairly soon.
In the mean time I will be posting some extraneous items I never used that I thought were SO important at the time to have.
NY board has first dibs then on to classifieds. Probably within the next week here just gotta amass it all from storage and take pics. Stay tuned!

Did you ever get Progressive springs for the front of your bike ??? Done so many sets, can't remember who all has them :? .

I didn't get the springs because I'm installing the fork extensions that I figure will harden up the front end just by the compression. I have the 418s for the rear and I guess it's smarter not to change everything at once, see how this setup works before I make more changes.

Go for it Mick, It is gonna look great, bringing that front end out makes the handling better than stock I have heard, that is why i want to do mine. Plus it looks soooooo cool. If ya do it in about four weeks, I will come by, I should have mine by then and will be closer to ya.. A true tech. day. Maybe DaBeard will come, he is very knowedgeable about our bikes!! Cliff
Cool, I couldn't remember if you had them or not. Don't blame you for wanting to change one thing at time as far as suspension goes, it's nice to see what part made how much difference.

Mick that's a copy on the fork extentions with 6*'s. What are you going with 4" extentions, to adjust the trail?
Make sure you tourque that neck down to specs also budd. I don't want to see another guy go down do to the unforgiving wobble / tank slap.
Good luck and take your time getting used to her after she's done.

Did the math on the rake/trail formula, I'm well within specs on the 4 trail if I go with 12.5" rear shocks, 3 inch extensions and 6* trees, stock front rim/rear rim w/CT and should have no issue with handling. I plan on purchasing a decent torque wrench to do this job, my current torque wrench snapped off an exhaust stud last spring set at the proper poundage. Kfc recalls he had to help me out because I had none of the tools with me or available to back that SOB out of the head. Needless to say my next investment will be a torque wrench and fork tool to tackle this job.

Did the math on the rake/trail formula,
Is this what we've come to? A Bickerson doing Math ??? What next? Da Chief using MapQuest? The Bobo and Cool Ed consulting on Obama's campaign ? Tall Dog getting a Schick razor commercial?
Be careful Mick .... don't want your obit to read .. " ... he forgot to carry the one ..."....
Q: What's a Bickerson's last words?
A: "Hold my beer ... what THIS !!.."
Be Careful out there !!

yeah dunno if I'd spend 250 on a torque wrench to get within the specs, 50-60 is more my ball park budget......
fork tool
Mick, if you're talking about the socket to remove the spring, save your money, you can borrow mine. It's something you'll probably only need once unless you change your springs. I bought mine figuring I would be using it to change everyone's springs (and I just about have  ). Let me know if you need it.

Someone say an R rear fender? 8)
Sounds like you've aquired a collection of parts. :D
Good luck with the project. Report back how the rack handles with the CT...debating it myself...keep bottoming out the front end on the crappy roads here and shoving the front fender into the possum pusher....even with 2" extensions....rake is the only way I think i can fix it...short of driving 55. 8)
