After reading reviews of gps's I determined that the garmin nuvi 350 was a good purchase and told my father I thought it was a good buy. Well, here is the problem. When going somewhere it will take you on the fastest route, which normally is not a bad thing, but sometimes you want to stay on the major highways even if it is longer. This gps does not have a function to use major highways like my Magellen has. You can pick quickest route or major highways. Is there any of the Garmin products that do this? Or a newer Magellan?

The 350 should allow you to select 'faster time' or 'shorter distance'. Although there is no guarantee for either, I've found that 'faster time' usually results in highway driving when both secondary and main highway routes are available. If you are already using 'faster', try the 'shorter' option and see if that helps.
