OK, I know this may be premature, but I have some questions:
The wife and I may be moving to West Virgina (Bridgeport area) this summer - new job. We have lived in SoCal for ~23 years, so we are a little concerned.
I have never been to West Virginia. I have been to the DC area many times and I know what to expect there (colder in the winter - a lot! - and humid in the simmer - a lot!). What is Bridgeport like? What is the weather, riding (cruiser) and RIDING (sport bike) like in the area? Are there any race tracks in the area?
Any information is greatly appreciated. Believe it or not, motorcycling will have an impact on our decision.
Regards,
Joe T.

it's a great place to ride Joe. you won't find a "hardly" owners group here but we are friendly sort.(well most of us) you will find that it's a lot different from where your from. you don't have to worry too much about people breaking into cars, homes, big city problems. yeah we do have some problems but nothing like where your from. It's a small town tucked in the hills. The seasons are what they should be cold in the winter, spring is cool, summers hot and falls are AMAZING. I ride 12 months Jan - March you may get out like 3 or 4 days each of those months on the bike. you will learn to ride in 30 degree weather. as long as it will get 50 by the afternoon. get yourself a battery tender if you move here.
we tend to keep to ourselves and take care of what we got, but are always willing to help when we can and if we think we need to. if you make it to west "by God" virginia give the channel a shout and we'll go for a ride, there are tons of GREAT roads. oh yeah just watch out for plantman. he rides WAY too fast    it's a good place to live. I've lived in Detroit / Norfolk / and DC. this is great place to live, raise a family, and work, your close to a few big cities, Pittsburgh has lots of stuff and it's only 90 miles away. DC is like 4 hours away. so your in the middle of a lot of things. schools are good too. I'll be blunt cause I've seen folks show up here to work from "important" cities. don't get an attitude just cause your from somewhere else you think is really cool and now your "stuck" here. I met a fella from LA whose here and I started up a conversation. all he did was "bitch" his house isn't right his kids parties aren't like the ones in LA... (He tells me he had to stay at the party and watch his kids???? cause the other parents stayed.. can you imagine that.. enjoying a party with your kids instead of dropping them off and leaving them alone... the horror) give me a break. but he does own a Buell so maybe that's why he was like that. after that chat I asked myself why in the world do I even talk to some newbie from outta state. and here I am talking to some outta stater.... :?: :?:
