Hello all,
I want to buy a soundsystem for my X, and was hoping to find the perfect system. :?
I don't have, nor really want a fairing or windshield, so I'd like something handlebar mounted, but be able to hear it and not look weird.
I like the looks of the honda system made for the X, but have read some poor reviews.
I was reading a bit about the Uniq system with the seperate amps? What do the speakers look like? It would have to have an mp3 input, could care less about radio or CD. Satellite radio might be nice, but not a must have. I understand moutning the amp under the seat is probably the best option I am just hoping to not clutter up my handlebars too much, and am also thinking of installing beach bars.
Any help or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks
hylander

I installed a Uniq speaker setup on my V2K. Big waste of my money. ~$300 for road noise. I sound like a rolling rock concert, and can hear almost NOTHING with the helmet on, and even LESS with the visor down. They look nice, but that's about it. Earbuds....... above 45 mph.

I have the MotorcycleTunes 5 1/4 speakers. I can hear them fairly well at highway speeds but I have a windshield, without a windshield I don't think you would be able to hear them at highway speeds.

Without some type of windshield you may not hear much. But good luck.

Depends, when I'm going helmetless or half helmet I use a Sennheiser PMX70 behind the neck headset with a GlobalSat bluetooth receiver & dongle. Good sound and you can still hear what's going on around you. With the modular helmet,if I'm not using the Scala Q2, I use the same rig with my Bose earphones. Bottom line is minimum wires showing with Bluetooth as we all know it is, ahem, illegal to ride in PA with headphones. Can't say it's the smartest thing to do,but I likes my jams!! Oh yeah... I've disguised the rather distinctive color of the Sennheiser's by pulling a black "sock" over them.

Threeflush I have these. They were cheap, easy to install, and in my opinion sound great even at highway speeds. See the above post for photos of the installed component

I just bought that same system from eBay/Gooddeals'...
figured it was cheap enough and if I wasn't pleased I would just set it up in my fishing boat....
It sounds great!
For the money, I am very pleased - the chrome ain't that deep, polished, high quality stuff that we all like - but it isn't a 3 hundred dollar system either...
I set it all up in a magnetic tank bag and tied the power cord into my trickle charger connection.
One disconnect and I can remove the entire setup...
I don't have a fairing or windshield.... strictly in the wind - and the system sounds great on the road.
I mounted the remote on/off outside my bag on the left so that I could turn it off easily at intersections or in town traffic. Lord knows I don't care for loud blaring music outside my cage door when I'm driving....

I had the cycle sounds 2" system on my X until I put the fairing on last week. Excellent sound over my very loud K2s. I mounted the amp onto my engine guard and the speakers up by my bake handles. They were small enough to not stick out like a sore thumb.
