Whell just checkin in with you all I'm at a RV park with wifi in the beutiful Redwoods So of Eureka California. Trailer is pulling just fine at about 350 pounds. Getting about 30 MPG. Cruise control working but I have to be in the upper RPM range to engage. Pulling the trailer my manifold VAC is going to be bit higer (less vac) . Ill try and post some pictures latter. Met up with a solo rider from Switzerland who at age 36 has aready biked most of the world  I got my little silloet of the USA on my bike he has a sillouet of the world :!: .

Glad things are going well you must be feeling pretty comfortable with the trailer. We have had cool weather and its raining. I was at Jons for my 24K service and we finished my cruise. I havent had a chance to try it yet so it working for you but you need to be at high RPMs. Is that to start it or to keep it working. Like freeway speed or higher. with the small vacuum cannister it most likley won't work for five or six miles till you have a decent vacuum built up. I got 35 MPG why is yours so poor that kind of strange but it might advrage out threw the trip. I really like the red woods but the weather can be cold close to the coast. Good to hear thing are going well have a safe trip. Jim

Jim it's not speed but RPM's that need to be high. I think I read someware about using 2 diode's and taking the signal from both coils. I am going to try that when I get back.

Guess we need to pull my tank and look how the switches are set.

I'm not having ANY of the issues you guys are.
NO issue pulling a heavy trailer up or down the mountains. Steady speed; NO issues.
Regularly use the cruise in school zones to hold 25MPH in 3rd gear. Let's get 'em fixed.

Humm I was looking a Tachs online and one of them had a little black box so the Tach could read both coils-had something to do with reading 1/2 RPM if hooked up to only one coil. Now I will have to retrace where I might have seen that and look at it closer.

Enjoy the trip Matt-next time Pics.

Cheers,
Rowland

I really like that area of Cali. I had a girl friend that lived in Humbolt and went to HSU back when I was stationed in SO CAL. I spent lots of time up there and could live there if I ever won the lotto.

BTW, I'm finishing my scoot this weekend and I have to tell you the job you did for me is beautiful. The light bar fits the speedo housing perfect. I definitely owe ya a cold one on the next ride 8)

Glad the trips going well Matt. Post some pics when you get the chance. Going through the Redwoods was one of my favorite parts of my coastal ride in '06. Make sure you get a picture of yourself/bike riding through one of the trees.
