Hay Smooth-X how about we use this oneGulf Coast Rides weekly update site. Now as for the meeting day is there any night during the week that all of you swing shift workers have off the same night every week. If so, we can change to that night. Being retired it does not make any difference to me as to when or where we meet. I go 150 miles back and forth to New Orleans just for the ride and fellowship and to see all the other Xs. I think the Southern Cruisers try to have a ride every weekend that we could team up with on Saturdays there a good bunch that dont care what you ride as long as you ride

Good Idea. How do I ditch those other posts and we will just use this one.

We are never off the same night every week. Mine is like I'll work MON and TUE, off WED and THURS, work FRI, SAT, SUN, off MON, TUE, work WED, THURS, off FRI, SAT, SUN. So on the 1st and 3rd weeks I'd be off WED and THURS and the 2nd and 4th I'd be off MON, TUE, FRI, SAT, SUN. I know it sounds confusing. Jeff works a similar a schedule and I vote that he makes the meeting days, if thats ok with the group. Since Bad Pig works straight days and you are retired, any evening is easy for yall. Skammer, Jeff, Darryl, and myself work wacky, so we will just have to make it when we can. By a fellow shift worker making the meeting days, it will be easier to accomadate most of us. Just my opinion. See you guys at Waffle House Biloxi at 6PM TUESDAY, unless someone changes it.

Ok Sounds like a plan. Tuesday night it is. 6:00 p.m. at the waffle house on exit 44. Tell everyone you know, maybe we will double in size this week.

Well folks.. It looks like mother nature is being her usual self. Big rain headed our way, so we are gonna put it off till next week. That's fine though. It gives us more time to pass the word.

I am glad to see you did not get caught up in a storm. Stork and I made a good ride today to Gulf Shores and back, visited a few bike shops, ate lunch, etc... We need to get the entire group together and make a ride. It would be alot of fun. Anyways we will meet next week day and time TBA. Hope all is well and talk at ya later.

This Wednesday If you want to meet up with me call me at 228-216-3523 I will be leaving Exit 13 somewhere around 5:30 and we can meet there if you all want. I will be going to the Slidell pit first and meeting up with some Xs there hang out for about an Hr. then all of us will be riding over to the pit in New Orleans. It is on Jefferson Hwy in-between Clearview Parkway. and Causeway Blvd. Go 1-10 to 610 then back to 1-10 and get off on the Causeway Exit go south to Jefferson Hwy. turn right on Jefferson about 1or 1 ½ mi on your right cant miss it just look for around 500 bikes. Most of the bikes start getting there around 6:30 or 7pm then leave for a ride or get something to eat around 9pm and head home around 10pm

Ok, we will see how it goes. Smooth X and myself will probably leave earlier because there's a chopper shop in Slidell that we wanted to check out before they close. After that, I know I'd have time to meet at the Slidell Pit but not sure yet about the N.O. Pit. Are the directions you just gave, for the NO Pit or the Slidell Pit? Tell me how to get to the Slidell Pit and I'm sure we could meet you there.

The deal is we have Free Parking for Saturday in front of the Museum.
After talking to person`s at the Museum,it looks like I-10 will be our
best route. The exit off I-10 will be closer to It.
Meet 9a.m. at the Kangaroo Station Lorrane Rd and I-10 instead of Rice Pavilion.

Well, we had a good time. five of us showed up. Short 2 minute sprinkle while we ate inside. Just enough to piss me off! :)
It was nice to meet everyone. We rode to the beach then West to the pier. 3 of us peeled off, but we meant for eveyone to come hang out at the pier until we went our ways. next week, I am thinking about making a ride to hattiesburg. That is a good half way point.. and they supposedly have a biek night at buffalo Wild Wings.

Smooth X
07-17-2004, 09:05 AM
Well, do we still want to have meetings. It does not seem like our group in growing. We can still do rides but meetings weekly almost seem useless if only 4-5 people show up. Does anyone agree? Let me know.
Hey Jeff, Remember the fat, bearded old guy in the gas station last fall who asked you a million questions about your 1300 Retro? Well, I got the Red 2004 Botter had on the floor but have done little riding since.
I am interested in hooking-up with you guys. I'll keep this forum on my must-do list.

Who's there besides the 3 of us? Anyone gonna meet us in Hburg? Big X, how are you getting there? 53 to 49? We can meet you at the gas station at 53 and 49. Just give me a call in the afternoon sometime. Maybe around 4. Or anytime tonight.
So is it set?
We meet at Chili's on Hwy 49 off I-10 tomorrow (Thursday, July 21) at 5:30PM, then ride together to Buffalo Wild Wings (US 59 and Hardy Street) in Hattiesburg for bike night which starts around 7:30PM?

Well Hi you-all hope everybody has been ok. Got an E-mail from Joe in Laurel said we have not given him much to read and he wanted to go to Slidell this Wed. Well Joe for you should get off I-59 at the Slidell Hwy 11 Exit go west toward the Hwy. 11 bridge about 8mi. then look for all the bikes on your left around 7 or 7:30. We usually leave I-10 Exit around 6:30 ish (except when I do not see each other) that I promise not to do any more.
Now as for last Sat. ride when I left my house it was a light drizzle but before I got to I-10 I was drowning so I turned around and road through a down pore home and decided to give it up. I hope the whole event didnt get rained out

08-02-2004, 04:42 PM
Maybe after we stand around in Slidell for a little time we can mount up cool off , go to the pit, and see all the other guys that cannot ride to far (he-he) and show them what bikes are made for Il post this on the La site so Bare can shine his bike up a little better.
Big-X
08-03-2004, 10:40 PM
I sent this to the La Riders so we better make a good showing tommorow night!!!!!
You and I know that the Pit is lager more, organized, has more bikes, for the present time and the people just seem to be of (and I hate t judge anybody) a higher caliber. Not meaning that in a negative way but most of the pit people seem friendlier, however, I have experienced some extraordinarily nice people at South Side just not enough of them. There seams to be a high influence of the radical type that shove there way to the front and likes attention. So they sit there revving there motors then look around at the crowd as if to say look at me. In addition, they have a few of those at the pit just not as many of them. Nevertheless, if you move around the background of South Side there are some real nice people like Fr8Hauler, Smooth-x, and me just to mention a few. Moreover, as for the traffic since when has traffic ever bothered a true biker. I have heard of bikers bothering traffic but never the other way around.
Bear maybe you had better explain. Nevertheless, if necessary Scammer did say he would help you cross the intersections by giving you an escort

Pretty much. There's only a few of us that are close enough to ride. Combine that with our different work schedules and it will always be "hit and miss". If nobody's off, the weather is good, and I'm caught up on things, then I hit the road solo. Ok, gotta get ready for work. Catch you later.

Well we missed you all Sat. a few of us took the ride to the Labor Day biker party, and went on the poker run and that was a long good ride. Smooth-X and I really got tired of eating those very tasty love bugs. Just never realized how good they taste and feel going in your nose, ears, and most of all in behind your glasses in your eyes. However, other than that the ride was spectacular. Maybe we need to put a ride tighter to the Tail of the Dragon? What do you all think? Maybe before it gets to cool.

It is called Gulf Coast Riders, I asked Lamonster to create it so that all of us from the coastal region from the different Tri-State region on the coast could make a post for rides without having to go to each state's post. Please use it and lets get on some rides together.
