Ride on 7/24 to Deleon Springs

A ride to the resturant and springs on Saturday July 24.

Riders from the south will meet with the central area riders at SR 50 and US 27 in Clermont at 8:00 am. There is a gas station station just east of this intersection so the meet is there. Then kickstands up at 8:20 am and on to Tavares. The ride will go north on US 27 to CR 561. Up CR 561 thru the twistees to SR 19 and on to US 441. Brief stop at SR19 and US 441 at the Eckerds. Then at 9:00 on north up US 441 to CR 473 over to CR 44. CR 44 over to Deland. North from Deland to Deleon Springs. Enterance to the park is $5.00 per bike. Inside the park is a resturant where you can make your own pancakes at your table (or order other food), the prices are very reasonable. Then a dip inthe spring is available. The water is 72 degrees all the time. Return in the afternoon before the rains. So RSVP with an appette and a bathing suit.

Sounds like a great ride, Milldawg! I know the place well and it's a great hang. Unfortunately, as usual, I can't make it. I get every other weekend Saturday to ride and that is my "off" week end, dang it!

Anyway, if I may make a suggestion, just before you get to Deland on 44, turn left on to cr 4053, Grand Ave. You can take that up through Glenwood and either pick up 17 again just south of the springs, or hang a left on Reynolds and I think that will take you on a back road right to the park. Great little back road, single file in places.

I plan on riding from St Petersburg. I will be glad to stop along the way to meet anyone who wants to join up. All of you who ask for places and people to ride with, time to annie up. I have asked on several occasions for people to ride with, if nobody wants to, fine, that is the way it is. Lets show some support for our chapter.

Southern Cruisers is going to St. Augustine on July 24th. I won't be able to make that one, either, but I will be riding with them to Astor on August 14. We'd love to have you along.

And, if you are out and about this weekend, lmk, as we're (Not SCRC, just me) having a farewell ride for a friend who is leaving town and taking his 1800 R with him. I tried to get him to leave it behind for safekeeping in my garage, but he can't be reasoned with... Matter of fact, DeLeon Springs would be a good destination for us... Probably on Sunday, though, 'cause this Saturday is my Ex's day to be childless which means I'm on deck.

Yep. It's a great outfit. I'm in S. Lake Chapter. Must have missed you when we took our St. Pete ride with Central a few months ago. I'm sure we'll catch up! We're scheduled for Ybor City 9/25, Sarasota 8/28, Tarpon Springs 10/9
