Nice Roads coming to Texas from north?

A buddy & I are meeting up in Columbus OH on July 19 and then riding down to Houston & then the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Anyone know good routes for us to take from Ohio? I've used a few trip routing services but so far I'm getting lotsa Interstate superslab and big US highways. I know that some of that is inevitable put I'd like to minimize.

Ace, still in Dallas - would welcome any suggestions for trip back north, to Dayton OH area - man it's hot here! I don't even want to get on the bike today!
