So I just moved back up here from Atlanta. When I bought my bike new in '05 I paid $60 for tag and title. Now the state wants $208 to register it. What gives?? And of course the folks at the Tag office are so darn "nice and helpful". So needless to say I can't get it registered yet, so it will be a little while before I get to start riding! Oh well, just wanted to vent.

We are looking at 3 possible routes in mid August. 1 the NC outer banks, the 2nd in the GA mountians, and the other in th NC mountians. Since we just did a 1000 miles in the NC mountians it's looking like the GA mountians or the Outer Banks will be the plan...so far.

yeah that registration is a bugger for certain...
Midlife, that OBX ride is a great time, the direct route is more of a relaxing cruise and the southern route out along the coastal area is more curves and stuff
both were a lot of fun but I enjoyed the northern route into Williamston on the way back cause I was on my own and not hurrying.

Dubanks e to the time of year (heat/traffic/lodging) were going to do the GA mountians in August and maybe do a ride to the outer banks later in the year when it cools and you can afford a place...lol.
Heading to Helen & Suches GA Aug 15-17th if anyone wants to go!
